You can still view them if you want. This was implemented to hide spam and bot comments. If someone got a low enough score to be hidden it means they are either a bot or have been plagiarizing others works.

Downvoting a post can decrease pending rewards and make it less visible. Common reasons:

      How can I view hidden comments? My first blog post got wacked and I've no idea why. Are there rules or guidelines? I read intro stuff, faqs....
