It doesn't matter what threads I vote on, when I vote on them, or how high my voting power is when I vote my vote means nothing. With little more than the default steem power all my vote can do is bump someones thread to the active page for a few seconds. It can't give the person I'm voting on any reward. It doesn't do me any good to vote as getting a curation reward is nearly impossible. Even if the math shows I'm due a curation reward I still get nothing. Happened again today curated a $1400 thread and nothing. Several other threads before I went to sleep showed I should be getting curation rewards but work up to nothing. Note these were not new threads but threads that were near the 12 hour payout time. So what is the point of even voting unless you already have steem power? Why is the system setup so that only those with power can get power? Some of us don't have the talent to write or make content we are just grunts reading and replying and voting but it seems that it is all for not.
Yiu actually need to vote around minute 10-20 of a good post to get rewards . You might be able to increase someone's payout of you vote near 12 hour mark even if you don't get rewards.

Steem power outweighs voting time. Someone can vote hours into a thread with enough power and I get nothing even if I vote at the optimum time.
