Communicating a particular message can be a complex task. I was looking for a way to promote my documentary project and Steemit as a platform in an offline way. Since I have a strong foot in the art and culture scene in The Netherlands, I decided to collaborate with some of my networks to create an artistic project that would build a bridge between the power of artistic expression while raising awareness for a growing online community.

Motion Paintings
For this mural, I worked with the amazing people of Motion Paintings. They make large scale installations in which they work with light and movement, just check their site.
Amsterdam Music Festival at ADE 2015
I wanted to make a mural that would look like an artistic advertisement for both my documentary project and the platform I'm reporting about this project; Steemit. Working with Motion Paintings proofed to be an excellent choice. Due to their significant expertise and precise workflow, we managed to translate the Future Food concept into a mural that raised curiosity and excitement.

Teach The Youth
The mural is located in the playground of an elementary school at the KNSM district in the east of Amsterdam. It was so much fun to work on the wall while explaining the kids and their parents why we were making this artwork. Kids got crazy excited when they started grasping the concept of Steemit. And even though talking with them about cryptocurrency was somewhat of an abstract conversation their enthusiasm was overwhelming.
I think the use of art as a mediator is unyielding. It speaks to people's imagination and triggers a proactive attitude within them that makes things happen! And that's exactly what I wanted to achieve with this mural.
I see this mural as a successful pilot in which we tested the waters when it comes to combining artistic practice and communicating a clear message. Sharing information can be done in such a way that it starts to live life on its own, and that's when amazing things start to unfold right in front of your eyes.
Nice mural! Nice exposure for Steemit. Let's see if some young kids signs up!

Thnx! The children are the future would be awesome if there were some kids on Steemit, but perhaps they will struggle with the workflow. Parental guidance?

I think we need more young people. Less crypto and more people that have no experience with btc etc. Lately, I feel there's too much crypto.

Yeah, I get what you mean, sometimes it feels like a bit of a difficult community to enter due to the technical aspects. I firmly believe UI plays a key role in this. Not to say that it has to become more like other platforms out there. But it's a major challenge IMHO

Ui Is the key. But seeing Steem loose so much value has also discouraged a lot of users I feel. Not sure where this will go.
