Hey, Steemians,
I hope everyone is well.
Today has been a rather difficult experience on Steemit for myself, I have been feeling the bandwidth limitations of Steemit quite extensively, and the situation has become worse, rather than better.
I've had to immerse myself in a plethora of posts on Steemit to get a full conceptual grasp of the gravity of just how grave this situation could become.
I've not only been monitoring my own Steem Power, but also others who have a similar amount, or less, and the prognosis isn't good. Those who aren't in the maxed out range, are close to it.
And the issue is only getting worse.
I really needed to think about what this means for my future with Steemit.
The conclusions I came up with are these:
The platform only has so much bandwidth that they can allocate to their users at any given time.
The more users sign up, the more the bandwidth becomes divided and allocated.
During peak traffic times, you will receive even less bandwidth allotment.
The more steem power you have, the higher your allotment becomes.
This is important to understand, because with a growing user base, it could actually get worse (If not addressed) .
What Steem Power actually is, and how it works in conjunction to your bandwidth, is another post altogether, but plenty can be found on Steemit describing what it is.
So after much thinking, and copious time spent waiting for bandwidth, I did something I wasn't too happy or excited about, but now is an opportune time, so I knew I needed to act. I took all my earnings that I have from Steemit, and transferred them to Steem Power.
I'm also allocating my post payments to 100 percent power up.
How long I will do this? I do not know, but I truly believe ignoring the issue now, will be a recipe for disaster in terms of minnow success.
My recommendations to new members especially, is too obtain as much steem power as you can right now. If that means allocating all of your post profits, then that is what you should probably do.
Unless of course you have the means to fund your Steem Power another way.
I believe right now to be the best time, because of the market dip. Since we all know Steem will be a contender, and much higher valued currency than it is today (let's face it, we know...), we need to plan accordingly. If you think you will come to Steemit, and become successful here, while ignoring your Steem Power, you might find you come in dead last in the rat race.
I hope I have given a small amount of insight into the importance of Steem Power, in correlation to the future of Steemit, and where you might rank in the long term scheme of it all. Please feel free to comment, and question down below. I wish you all good fortune, and success with Steemit! @futuremind

That's a really fair point, the best time to invest in Steemit is now, when things are still fresh, the more Steem power one collects from the get go, the more it'll increase in value over time.

That's my plan, reinvest in steem power. And the majority of what I make from mining put into steem also...
I'm here for the long haul, slow and steady... Enjoy the scenery and ride. Steem is still quite cheap, and has so much potential... Good time to get involved!
Wish we had had heard of it earlier.
