So, what steemit seems to REALLY need is...

Account Category Filtering

I like steemit - I really do. But the main feeds (trending, new, hot, promoted) are like a never-ending firehose of irrelevancy.

There are many posts in categories I have not only no interest in, but an active disinterest. It doesn't matter what they are; I am sure most people also react the same way to certain things.

Perhaps for you it's the never-ending excitement about the latest twitch in bitcoin value, or politics, or conspiracy, or religion, or cats, posts written a language you can't even understand, or whatever... the point is, given that posts are in a particular primary category, we can be pretty certain that the category itself rules out our interest in them, and having it shoved in our faces is a complete waste of our time. And our time is valuable.

So what steemit needs, I think, is a section of the User Settings that allows us to tell the post browsing system that we do not want to see posts in particular categories unless we specifically click on that category.

Let's get this noticed

If you agree, then perhaps you can help get this post ranked highly enough to be noticed, and addressed, by the powers-that-be, and we can all benefit from a very much improved post browsing experience. You know what to do!
