It's my 90th day on Steemit, also the first day of a new month, so I thought it's a good time to think and write about my beginnings on the platform.
To be perfectly honest, I'm motivated in writing the post by @dragosroua's #challenge30days, but the topic seems to have a great timing for me too.
Before Steemit, my only true interaction with the crypto world was represented by a small purchase of bitcoin a few years back. Not in 2009, but not in 2017 either.
I moved a little quicker with Steemit, because it involved something I discovered I like to do: write. I may not be the best writer, but consistency allowed me to make progress in an area which probably isn't among my natural strengths.
Even so, it took about a month to join (including the time to get the account approved), after reading the first email from @jongolson, who was at the time new to the platform and couldn't be more excited!
I immediately got hooked after joining, and it was a time when I thought I needed help to fight the steemit addiction, but that adjusted by itself after a while.
In my 3 months since joining I
- wrote 85 posts on the Steem blockchain (about one every day)
- made 498 comments (an average of over 5 comments per day; always responding and rewarding real comments on my posts)
- reached 544 SP (225 delegated to others), most of it was purchased
- attained a reputation score of 42.8 (quite low compared to peers who started around the same time; on the other hand I never promoted my posts)
- currently have 214 followers
Going forward I think I should focus a bit on increasing that reputation score which I considered mainly irrelevant until now, and also pay close attention to the developments in the Steem ecosystem.
Steem on!
You are doing real well and I love your posts as they are always well written and informative. Thanks for sharing with the community and being so active.

You are very kind Joe, thank you! Steemit (or rather Busy) has become a daily routine for me and one that is equally enjoyable and fulfilling!

I need to check out Busy more. I have visited it a few times, but never really dove into it. What do you like more about Busy than Steemit proper?

To be honest, there are only 2 things I prefer doing on Steemit:
I think I summed it up here:

But since then they added instant notifications, for example.

Nice! I love reading people's history on the platform....Those numbers will just keep on increasing over time. Pretty exciting to think where we will all be in a year from now.

Yup, so do I. It's inspiring! However I try to focus less on where others are (not always successfully, I admit), and more on where I want to be.
