For few months of being immersed in this community, I have often observed the endless disputes in regard with vote buying/ vote selling. It has even triggered different content writers to drop names of different personalities committing such actions. On the hand, specific posts were even made targetting such person.
Trump approves or not, who cares?
Politics everywhere!
Needless to say, there is politics in this community. Others view this as something bad, while I, on the other (and those who would agree with me) would say it is pivotal.
I understand the perception of those who view it negatively mainly because it would cause more possible disputes in this community and it might become endless. This would then be toxic to those who are peace loving members of this community. It might lead to lesser number of active member or muting other content creators who would explicitly express their feelings towards this issue.
On the other, politics in this community is pivotal because it allows the flow of ideas and opinion which would then later lead to more community engagement -- meaning to say it would involve people of different interests.
In behalf of this issue, it can be viewed on different angles/ perception from different individuals even from a third lens.
A person gets downvoted because others think he or she does not deserve such amount of payout. In response, the person being triggered would defend himself of herself in public through a post saying that it has been upvoted (even by paying bots) because it has served its purpose in the community. It is deemed helpful to most readers and writers on Steemit.
Going to the core of this problem which I think is impossible because we have different opinions towards this issue and opposing sides do not wish to compromise-- this boils down to coming up with good content. We all get paid (but some do not especially when it is spam or plagiarized post) through our works. And that means we are responsible of coming up with a well-written, well-structured, or this what we call a good content post.
Thinking about this issue, I asked myself multiple times of what a well-written, well-constructed good content is?
I came up then with 3Is: inform, inspire, and ignite.
Inform
A good content post aims to inform everyone not just of the newest trends but of things that matter to most and matter to some. It does not need to be all about cryptocurrency and the like. It can be about cooking lessons, art, poetry, things that happened to you in a day with stuff that you learned and you think is worth sharing, and a lot more.
It basically informs everyone anything under the sun. It might something be new or something old that we had forgotten because we acquired various information from schooling and internet.
Aside from what was mentioned, apparently, content writers seem to write stuff that they think would interest others to gain upvotes and have higher payouts only. If not prevented, this would then boil down to limited number of issues being covered. As an education advocate, I envision Steemit also as a flourishing database of information.
It is also important to take note that as we tend to share information, it should not only cover a portion of as it may be viewed as one-sided or biased.
Lastly, if we seek to inform others, we must as much as possible be aware of the sources where our materials came from.
Inspire
Often times, we tend to be uninspired because of the things that is going on around us. It could either be personal which is direct or it could also be indirect.
Steemit, as far as I know, is created to chase all the grey clouds and wrap it with a black garbage bag so that it can easily be thrown away. It seeks to inspire those who are uninspired.
By inspiring, you are allowing others to be driven others by an unseen force to do things that they ought to do. Inspiring others can also help people be focused on their goals or become goal-oriented.
Ignite the imagination of people to do things
When you tend to inspire others, you ignite them to become better and do more than what is required. You absolutely are aiming to set the bar higher and get rid of mediocrity.
This traits are not just visible on the witnesses of Steemit but also can be seen to other writers.
I have known that what is written in the blockchain would forever remain in the blockchain, hence, when we write something, we must make sure that it possesses this character.
I hope we will always be inspired to spread positivity. Have a great day and thank you for reading.

I suppose that falls under the category of inspire as when you inspire, you bring positive emotions to others. And I totally agree with you. We all need a good laugh. It gets rid off stress.

I love the three I's! A great way to explain it. I'd rather stay out of politics, but, as a writer, I'm thrilled to have such an amazing platform. Publishing on Steemit has given me freedom to come up with fun subjects and create whatever I want, but, you're right, the best content happens when you bring all three of your "I-word" concepts together. Inform, Inspire, & Ignite!
Awesome post! :)

I though I was the only one who noticed the politics here. I think it is purely human nature to be greedy most especially in steemit when the rewards pool seems to be endless (although yes, like all things, are finite)
I completely agree with your post. In my first few days on the platform, I thought that I could get away with posting anything. I had learned it the hard way. Now, I am advocating to minnows to make good content and to engage more in tje platform.
Either ways, bots or not, autovote or none, you cannot be antagonized.
