I broke a rule today; It felt good. Ok, so it was my own rule and there's not a lot at stake I guess, just my privacy, however I still felt a little nervous doing so. Today I handed someone at work my steemit details essentially giving them permission to read my blog. It doesn't sound all that concerning maybe, but to me allowing someone I work with to read my posts is a little unnerving. I suppose because I see her every day and sometimes my blogs are a little personal. It's strange huh? I'll share with strangers but not with someone I know, and like.

Anyway, we had a little chat and she seems a little keen on learning more about steemit but also about reading my blog. I feel I write in a reasonable way, it's understandable, well punctuated and (I hope) interesting to some. Sure, not everything I write will interest everyone however my topics are quite varied so there's generally something for everyone. image source
I can imagine the girl from work scrolling through my blog trying to find all my content which, as we all know is really annoying, to pick out a few she would like to read and in a way I'm looking forward to some feedback from someone I know won't judge me. I wish the platform had an easier way to locate a bloggers posts however there's no real other way than to scroll...and scroll...and scroll. You get the idea.
The prospect of having my blog scrutinised, albeit in a friendly way, has made me think back to some of the posts I've written, some I'm very proud of and some that were, well, incredibly tongue in cheek! I thought I'd post a few here for people to check out (if they chose) as my early posts were...well, you be the judge.
The Western Front
Law beaker
Port Arthur
Adelaide welcome's zombies
What makes a good year
Camp like a boss
How wheat domesticated humans
Pizza like a boss
Roman legions
Text messaging
42 year old toy
Getting a grip
These days I post about once a day however in the past I was posting twice typically. There's a lot of posts I suppose and the selection above merely shows the diversity of my blog. I have written some bad ones, I know that for sure, but I think I've written some great ones also. I'm not a writer, in fact I never finished high school however I tend to write from the heart and about what I am interested in or what's important to me. If you choose to take a look I thank you, if not then that's ok too. Enjoy. Or not.
Oh, as for my work colleague? Well, I hope to get her blogging because I think she would have some great content and really enjoy it although she has another awesome talent and hobby so she may decide not to. Hopefully she gets inspired by a scrubber like me posting about stuff and joins steemit though. :)

Very recognizable. I even keep my husband away from reading my blogs. I think I like discovering this platform on my own and not have the people I know for too much of an opinion about how I spend my time here.
I've always been amazed at the amount and quality of posts you produce. I'm sure you'll colleague will have a good time looking through them. And I'm definitely going to click through a few of the links you shared, starting with how wheat domesticated humans. As you told - there's topics here for everyone.

Knowing her sense of humour can say with confidence that she will. :)
It could be worse, some bullshit challenge for instance.

I'm the same. Nobody that I know personally has access to my blog.

I don't really have anything to hide but I write about personal stuff sometimes and am not sure I want someone I know to read it. Too late now though.

I got my friend to join when I started, but he bailed shortly thereafter. Since then, the only people who I've interacted with on Steemit have been people I met here. I don't actually know anyone in real life. I think it could be a bit scary to have someone reading through your stuff. It's more difficult for me as I've opted for some anonymity and if I start handing out my Steemit profile, people can start posting my info. Sort of defeats the purpose. That's ok though. I'm still having a good time and I think eventually more people will get on and I'll lose some of my anonymity. Let us know how it goes for you!

Yeah, I hear you loud and clear. That's why I didn't use my real name on steemit.
