Awesome, you found your way to SteemIt, and via the Steem blockchain you now have the ability to connect with any one, any where and most importantly, without any company or government between us!
Just getting here though is not enough. This is different then anything you are used to, even if it may seem similar on your screen. Because of this, connecting with other people is much tougher then traditional social media sites, so we have to put in some extra effort in that area.

One of the best ways I have found to gain real connections with people is to resteem articles you enjoy, and leave a comment letting them know you enjoyed it so much you resteemed it. It is a small gesture, but it not only makes the author feel good, it also now connects that author with all the people that follow you as their article goes into your live feed.
This is the best way to spread valuable content and authors on the site, ultimately making Steemit a better platform.

A good way to look at it is that everyone that follows you as your audience. You have built up your followers and they are interested in you and what you post about. If you come across a post that you think your audience would enjoy, you should resteem it. This benefits your followers and the person's article you resteemed. This will naturally make your blog stronger over time.
Pure resteem blogs can be looked at like a magazine. Someone is just organizing certain types of articles so people can find certain info easier.
