Today, while listening to people play synthesizers on YouTube, I delved into the world of SteemIt. I started with an idea I had to look at everyone that's upvoted posts and comments of mine. That was...interesting. Many of the "blogs" were mostly blank. Many had a few posts in different languages. I found that interesting. Do they also speak English? Why were they liking my posts?
Interesting, but mostly a waste of time. I believe I followed one or two that had a few interesting posts.
I also opened the SteemIt feeds of a few users that people I follow had reblogged. This was an amazing adventure. I found a community of Filipino SteemIt users that work together to upvote and reblog each other, to bring each other to a wider audience. I stumbled upon quite a few interesting stories about people's lives, and photos from them. It was far more enjoyable than perusing the "hot" or "trending" tabs at the top. There is tons of awesome amazing content out there on SteemIt that I could never find via the hot or trending tabs. This content may be lost on the platform, because it wasn't upvoted by a significantly powerful enough SteemIt user. This community of Filipino users is working together to get their posts out there to a wider audience. That's awesome. It made me realize that, while I should be aware of what I reblog, since it does show up on everyone's feed that follows me, I should also often reblog things that I find interesting, especially if it's a post with few likes, or a low amount of pay for really quality content.
