I'm not making the same mistake I did last year when I powered down the 3k Steempower I accumulated from posting, then turned around selling each Steem at an average of 20cents!
Still wish I had the ammount :(

and Steem is what price now?

    Wait till we are able to build SMT's and do ICO's. That might be not $5 but fifty instead mate. ETA Q1 2018

    very true...$50s is kind of a long shot, but I'll take it. Hopefully that doesn't happen for quite awhile though, I hate skyrockets because I always regret not buying more

      Hah hah, there is always something to regret in this life :) I said $50 because of just what happened to ETH after it's started to be used for the ICO's. And STEEM in my opinion is a superior blockchain to ETH since it does not have transaction costs and is extremely fast. So i said $50 by being a bit conservative here. But i guess we will have to live and see.

      Yeah, we will see how the alt tokens work for the Steem chain. With all the development, it could easily be worth serious money. $5 is a good start, that would put the market cap around $1bil. $50 is about 10bil marketcap...

      Hell, $50 could be cheap in a few years if Steem can hit Eths current marketcap

        Yes, that's what i am saying. And from all current blockchains Steem has seen the most adoption so far. If facebook has 400 billion valuation i do not see why the whole STEEM blockchain with all the apps that will be developed on it could not reach 10 billion. But a lot of that depends on many factors of course.

        It's actually 13 payments over 3 months. It's to get your locked up Steempower into liquid steem so you can sell it for bitcoins or cash money

        I think most would call yours a ‘live and learn’ situation. I try not to think much about how I listened to the naysayers on Wall Street downplay BTC.

        I’m relatively new to the interesting world of crypto; and, love taking a few SD and powering up for a time in the future when STEEM gets its traction.

        Well, I’m glad to know that you won’t power down on the next round. I can’t be sure; but, I think this affects the stability of the stock when many whales power down simultaneously.

        Btw, I didn’t know about the payout being 3 months. I always thought it was as @garyph said, over two years.
