To Celebrate or Not To Celebrate That Is The Question?
After one month on Steemit I wrote a post celebrating my first 100 followers and how excited I was to get them.
Little did I think that when I made it to a 1000 I would feel that I could hardly be bothered to post about it. But that's the way it is.
Late last night I crossed the 1000 mark but so many of those "followers" are actually spam accounts or, if human, still on 25 that it makes a nonsense of the number.
However, I am very grateful to all the genuine people following me and, especially to those who engage with me on a regular basis.
Without you, I just wouldn't be here. Simple as!
And without you I wouldn't have reached another milestone yesterday, and this one I'm really proud of . . . 10,000 POSTS!!!!
Yep. You read that right. 10,000.
Now that is something I can really get behind in celebrating. 😁
Now, since the majority of those posts are actually comments, I really do need to sincerely thank all of you who have engaged with me and/or have written great posts that I wanted to engage with. I simply couldn't have done it without you.
Heartfelt Thanks To All Of You
💙 💛 💜 💚
There are too many of you to mention individually here but I would like to give a special thanks to @abh12345 for creating and running the Engagement Leagues.
The quality of people I have met through participating in the Leagues is second to none and has kept me engaged and interested.
The delegations I received for being an active participant were a big help in getting me to 500 SP and a big motivator.
Asher's rules 😂 have kept keep me away from self-voting and using bots which makes my achievements even more valuable to me and just goes to show what you can do by good, honest engagement.
👏 🏆 👏 🏆 👏
Now then, since it seems like I've decided to celebrate after all, I'm going to follow in the foot steps of many great Steemians who have gone before and I'm going to organise a giveaway.
This will be in support of another great project which is ultimately run in support of you.
It's called Dust Sweeper and, if you don't already know about it, it is a joint project run by @davemccoy and @danielsaori and is supported and operated by witness @danielsaori.
It enables newbies and minnows to get paid on the votes they already have but that would normally be turned to dust (and thus lost) because they don't meet the payment threshold of 0.02c.
It works by automatically upvoting your eligible posts/comments just before payout and it's not about making a profit for itself.
I've been signed up a few weeks now and I love watching all the votes in GINA that I now get paid for which would, in the past, have turned to dust.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
I'm going to make up to 40 donations to @dustsweeper of 0.50 SBD on your behalf.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
To be eligible to win you must have left at least 5 comments on my posts, before this one and you need to be a minnow or below.
To enter, leave a comment saying you want to be one of the 40 and I'll make the donation on your behalf, until all 40 spots have gone.
Please be patient though as it may not be until after June 17th as I'm going away today and won't be back until then.
Have a great week and remember . . .
@gillianpearce, I congratulate you on this milestone and I am very glad that the number of your followers is growing every day.Your blog is always interesting to me too. I wish you great success in the future :)

Thank you @madlenfox. It's a bit of a slog at the moment isn't it? Post pay outs seem to have decreased again. Not sure why because the price of Steem doesn't look like it's changing too much.
Thanks for your kind words they are much appreciated! 😍

You are right that the payouts are less: (. My voice is now catastrophically small and I wanted Your advice :). Maybe I should use this "dust machine" heh . I'm reading about it now and it's hard for me to understand because of the translator. But if I understood correctly that I need to transfer 1 sbd and the system will automatically adjust the payment for the vote. Or am I saying it wrong? What do you think about it? I will be glad if you answer me when You have a free minute :)

I'm using it @madlenfox and I love seeing all the votes that it's saved.
Let's say someone upvotes your comment with 0.01c. When it is time for payout Dust Sweeper will add the extra 2c (or whatever is needed) so you now get paid 2c + 1c minus the curation which is tiny. So although you're adding 2c to your vote you get most of that back plus the 1c that the other person left.
Hope that makes sense! 😊

Congratulations. You seem to be one of the most active Steemians and you deserve success. This is just the start of something. Imagine where you will be next year. I accept that most of my followers are inactive or fake, but there's enough real people to make this fun

I'd say you've got the cause for celebration right. 10,000 posts/comments over 1,000 followers (which a dreadfully low percentage of any of our followers lists are going to be actual followers).
Congratulations on the milestone(s). Looks like I'm north of 3,750 with the posts/comments, so barely a third of where you're at. :)
Keep up the good work, and enjoy your time in Devon.

I agree what you think about the followers, for me they aren't so important. I have almost 1500 but I have interaction with less than 20-30! Your 10000 posts are impressive! Congratulations!

Congratulations on your 1000 followers. I hope I'm on my way there as well. Been here almost 2 months and I'm about to break 300. I have 7-800 posts. I would like to be 1 of the 40.

I probably don't. I engage with so many people. I have no idea. 😁

Hmmmm. Well I'd probably call that commenting rather than engaging then! 😂

Yeah. That's true. I only comment on things I read and I usually leave long thought out comments but I haven't tried discord or any of the other things on here. I may try them out in the future but right now I am so broke that I am blogging from my phone.🙁

I only use Discord occasionally, mainly to speak privately one on one. I find the groups overwhelming. Too much going on at once for me to keep up! 😁
