I MET THE STEEM GODDESS PUREPINAY!

Newbie, noob, neophyte, minnow, new comer, novice, beginner or however you call it, that's simply ME.

Now what does a newbie do in a platform that seems very hard to digest? Well, there's a lot. Allow me to give you a list.

1. READ. READ. READ (As a beginner, it's crucial to have at least a little knowledge as to what I got myself into.)
2. Post as much as I can and earn at most a dollar! (That's a good start actually.)
3. Join group in Facebook and promote articles. (UPVOTE FOR UPVOTE! FOLLOW FOR FOLLOW! Who's guilty? ME!)
4. Invite friends to join the platform and let them upvote, follow you and vice versa. (In my case, I introduced Steemit to my 150 students.)
5. Look up to Steemit's warhorse and follow their footsteps. (BETTER TO TRY AND FAIL THAN NEVER TO TRY AT ALL by William F. O'Brien)
6. Upvote and comment trending articles to earn as curators. (This is in connection to number 5.)

And the list goes on and on and on and on! Right newbies? ;-)

Despite of all those, most of our efforts don't seem to pay off. These lead to heart broken, disappointment, frustration and even depression. Then a question will haunt us, "SHOULD I GIVE UP OR SHOULD I JUST KEEP CHASING STEEMIT EVEN IF IT LEADS NO WAY?"

As for me, I almost gave up and thought that we all have our own journey and Steemit isn't just mine. So days passed by and I didn't seem to care about Steemit at all. I went back to my usual routine and was no longer answering queries from my students about Steemit. I was telling myself, "At least I tried!"

BUT

The moment I checked the tabs on my phone, I saw the page of Steemit and clicked it for no reason. Then I was scrolling down and saw @purepinay's post. I then clicked it for various reasons.

The earning is skyrocketing!
She's a Filipina!
She's gorgeous.
She's gorgeous!
And oh! Did I mention that she's gorgeous?

It made me checked her blog and to my surprise, she's even from my city!The Steemit goddess is from my city! And so I commented on her post. I was aware that she'll be giving out a gift for the best comment at that time. I was hoping to be chosen but didn't expect. Expectation leads to frustration, you know!

I WON.

OH YES, I WON!

Does this mean something? Of course it does! I'm gonna meet her! That was the first thought in mind. Me staying in Steemit came in second.

She messaged me through Facebook as to when and where we could meet for her to give me the prize. SWEET!

We agreed to meet in Parkmall and so we met.

I was too shy and dumbfounded to ask for a selfie but I'm glad she took one! She's a goddess for a reason!
