About 2011 or so I was introduced to the idea of investing in silver. Silver prices were going up and up then, but I didn't have all that much money to invest, even though for only about $20 or so dollars you could purchase an ounce.
However, one of the benefits of living awhile is that you get to see all sorts of ups and downs in pricing...so when prices go back down again you'd be smart to buy. (now with resources like silver you can also look at historical charts which you can find online for free like this one)
So, about mid last year (2015) I noticed the price of silver started to drop farther and throughout the year it got lower and lower. It's beginning to rise again, however I still believe it will continue to increase over the course of 2016 before it goes back down again.
Now, although precious metals are sort of an investment and you can make money with them, I see them more as a wealth preservation tool, since they have always and will always be worth something, unlike paper money.
So, if you've ever considered investing in things like gold and silver and are located in either the US or Canada, this is a short video I put together sharing my results along with the same recommended resource I use to buy my precious metals and have them stored for me.
