Yellowstone National Park, which covers parts of Wyoming, Idaho and Montana, lies on top of a supervolcano that could effectively wipe out The United States if it were to explode. Early Thursday morning a 5.8 magnitude earthquake shook the region.Though, its epicenter was only 230 miles from Yellowstone. Quite scary, right?

Well, that Montana Earth Quake is rare, but there was one of similar magnitude 100 years ago. So, just part of the long cycle of things.
Until the caldera starts expanding, which would be easily seen as the ground rises, there isn't a threat that it will explode. The quake swarm that happened about a month ago has been happening almost every year. Smaller quakes relieve pressure.
