Is The End of Steemit Finally Coming? Can Steemit Survive In The long term?

Hi Steemians

While checking news this morning, I found this article that looked a bit interesting. With exactly the same title I have used. So what do you think! Is the End of Steemit coming! We have been using Facebook, Instagram, Twitter for years, but have we ever received any rewards for our content before! Plus we were forced to watch advertisement on every corner. Steemit was a great experiment that not only gave us the opportunity to change our lives, but became a very successful experiment that will change the future of blogging and digital currencies in the next years. I see it as an investment both in time and money, because time is money.

Steemit is a platform that allows monetization of published content and creative content on the platform. With all its ups and downs, it will remain the best platform that offers its users enought privacy and freedom. Every Steemian who posts meaningful new content is adding value to the blockchain. Every user who is introducing Steemit on other social media websites is inviting more people on the site as well as keeping the existing users entertained.

Steemians arent only writing and sharing posts, but working hard to report scams, flag posts and look for high quality content. If Steemit didnt exist, we wouldnt have DTube, Dlive, Steepshot, DMania and many other apps, that are doing very well latey. Everyone who didnt join Steemit and even who is active on the platform is aware of the issues here and one of them is the voting system, but I hope that the developers act sooner than later on this issue. I am glad that every user here has the chance to voice his opinion, suggest alternative ideas and come up with solutions. We didnt had this freedom in any other platform and the most of them wont even hear your voice. Such as Facebook! You can have many problems going on, but nobody answers your email or cares about you

"UUNIO is one that is different from all others due to some key features it has developed which will truly make content creators kings and afford them the due regard that all other platforms so far deny them. A content creator for example is able to directly determine the price at which their content should be sold, the revenue from which goes to them immediately via the UNIFUL coins. The platform is one that seeks to encourage creatives with all the tools they need to succeed that is why copyright protection and other enabling tools are put at the disposal of users, for them to get the full benefit from the brilliant content they put together every day.

• Equality: Everyone on the platform has equal voting power, hence there are no “Whales” or superpowers as that privilege will get abused, and this will further eliminate the monopolization of power.

• No Compensation Period: Users on previous platforms have had problems with the compensation limits set by the platforms. The case is different on the UUNIO platform, as there will be no expiry date on posts, no matter how old they get, they will still be recommended and compensated."

UUNIO is a social media service based on blockchain technology, where every content will be rewarded. Whales wont have any influence, as everyone will be equal. It is the new competitor to Steemit, if we want to see it that way. Will UUNIO survive In the long term! Well only the future can tell :)

I hate saying it, but the 7 day payment window seems like it was designed for throw-away content, not quality content... Those who make genuinely great content and aren't super popular or backed by whales end up suffering, especially if they've put a massive amount of time or effort into the project...

Video, animation, complex art or even well researched articles are all left in the dust permanently after 7 days... Just doesn't seem right...

I'll say time is ticking for Steemit, but I hope they can roll out a SMT that allows for perpetual voting. It pains me to see great posts from 8+ days ago that have zero hope of ever earning again.

Any particular reason that you didn't upvote this post=? Just curious...

I think it makes some valid points, but I think it's hyper doomsday and clickbaity. I think Steem is miles ahead of the competition. Am I concerned? Most definitely, but I see this as FUD more than fact.

Fair enough, thanks for your reply. Cheers

Maybe for some content it could be helpful to have a personal webpage aside steemit (maybe patreon? There is a cryptoPatreon web?) where continuing monetizing such content?

We might be surprised in the future :)

Why? Do you have some info about exciting projects? ^^

@overkillcoin Yes thats really sad and DTube has the same problem as well. If DTube wants to be better than Youtube, there should be no time limit. I personally watch some videos that are about 2 years old if I find them interesting on Youtube and upvote every single one. I hope that they can change things here, before summer :(

If we will be able to upvote posts or videos here at anytime, means we will be rewarded every week for our old posts. It is actually good and the posts will even have more values.

I know DTube is seeking to have its own SMT... the founder is against bots, and it would make sense that they'd increase or demolish the pay window... That could be great.

With this other site, Unnio, in ICO mode, it shows they don't have a working product yet. I'm still holding on and waiting to see what the Steem devs come up with, but it's a VERY uncomfortable wait for all of us, esp. with SMTs being announced last october :O

Yes I was checking their videos on Youtube and seems like they are waiting for investments to start. About Steem we have no choice, but to wait :(
I discovered an other similar platform now yours.org will that pays with Bitcoin. Will check it out this afternoon :)

Hmmm...Steemit still has the upper hand though. However, something should be done as soon as possible about the abuse of power by whales using vote bots.

Hopefully! We can only wait and watch :(

Interesting! that's a question we all ask ourselves. translate it into other languages,

As I said, only the future will tell whats gonna happen :)

You certainly provide food for thought, although I'm not ready to jump ship just yet. However, I see no reason why anyone that wants to shouldn't use both platforms.

I am sure that the most people will use both platforms. Same as we were using Facebook and Twitter before.

Ok.. This kinda makes sense
But one question is, if every one are made equal, what will be the reward for those who joined the platform earlier, those who invest more time/money?

Whoever joins first will have more reward for his content, because he is the early bird anyway. There will be no Whale, or Minnow. They are already selling tokens and planing for many things until the summer. Lets see what happens until that time. People can invest in that platform as well.

Hi @hanen. Thanks for information. Ididn't know.
I'm not close to expert in this area...but as i see steemit , dtube....they have lot of issues that needs to be addressed.
