It can be very frustrating when you , write posts, upvote, and comment; but do not get paid. But that’s about to change in the next week. All you need to do is work on it! Everything starts with your introduction post. The most users are not making money with their introduction posts, because of some mistakes they do.

The biggest mistake that many users do, is writing a very short introduction with not enough information. Or write a long introduction without adding any photos to their post.
There are many scammers here who pretend to be a person, that they are not. So you need to share many photos of yourself or take your first photo holding a paper with Steemit and your Username written on it. With that verification, you win peoples trust and upvotes.
Let them know more about you and your life. Mention things like your work, hobbies, pets and future plans. Let them know your opinion about Steemit and how you discovered it. What you like to add more to the community or any projects you are working on.
And dont forget to use the right tags! "introduceyourself" and "introducemyself are the popular tags for newcomers. So use them and add other tags like "life", "steemit" , "blog", "busy". You can check in the list and find the right tag for the topics you want to mention in your introduction post.
Follow these simple steps for the beginning, build a following and grow your wealth. Dont publish a post where you ask people to follow you or help you. Dont comment on other peoples posts asking them to follow you, upvote you or check your blogs. They will do it without asking them, when they see your nice comments and good behavior. Make sure your comments are not short “Great job bro!” but instead add value or ask a question. You can build your own community on Steemit by following other users, having conversations and helping others. You will be followed in return.

I already made all the mistakes in my introduction post but I've decided to make a weekly life update with lots of pictures and fun stories. I've decided to post my art and poems on other days. I'll see how it works. And you're absolutely right about engaging in meaningful conversations and building your community. I actually like it about steemit because you can see that many people here actually care to make quality content and connections. At least that's my experience after two weeks here. :)

No problem you can write another long introduction. You have always a second chance, I did the same at the beginning, but wrote the second introduction after 2 months and made everything better :)

I'll think about that. Maybe I could write a new introduction on my birthday in a couple of months. That would make sense. I wouldn't want to write one right now just because I've realized that I didn't do a proper job with my first one. That would be awkward. :)

It's not a good idea to promote posts with misleading tags even if the post talks about those tags.

Ah dont worry about that. I use it just for an hour if I write about something related to "introduction". Because thats the tag where you find all newbies, otherwise they wont really check other tags. Enjoy your Weekend :)
