Should women be on Steemit?
After signing up and posting on Steemit for nearly a fortnight now, there are some reoccurring posts that I have been seeing. So many posts state the only good posts i.e. the highest up votes and payouts, are by those posted by 'pretty' girls or to do with Steemit/the Steemit market, and everything else lays low. But does that mean women should stop posting?
For me, my highest payout post (which you can find here) was dedicated to clothing and involved a lot of photos of me up close. Some people may see this post as informative and unharmful, as I do just enjoy posting about clothing, Whereas others may see it as 'girls getting paid out for not a lot of work'.
Here is one of the photos I posted..
As a women, why should we stop posting things we like to post about, which in turn could influence someone else? One of the highest payouts has to be for the 'First ever makeup video' on Steemit, which I am sure you haven't missed. In my opinion, a women who has obviously spent time filming, editing, uploading and creating a quality post, SHOULD DEFINITELY get a high payout. Why shouldn't she? But if you do look at some of the people complaining, not a lot of time may have gone into their posts. It should not matter that she is a women or what she has posted.
If she/he has made a quality post, they should be upvoted and have a high payout.
Some of the highest/ most popular posts, are from interesting people putting their lives out for others to take a look at. It doesn't matter if they are a male or a female.
What are your thoughts on the subject?
According to Alexa, there are more women on Steemit than men - http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/steemit.com.
In the end, you are right. This not a question worth asking. Good bloggers are good bloggers, irrespective of anything else.

To be fair Alexa has a hard time distinguishing between this kind of woman...
And this kind of woman...
To be fair neither does this community in general

No doubt about that. No one has an issue with interesting content posted by a woman- we need more if it! The problem is that "interesting content" is all too often nothing but a picture of a fine donk.
The problem, however, is not the women posting things that pornhub does better. The problem is us- the people that upvote it. If we as a community reject tits in favor of philosophy, we have a much more valuable organization. I'd also be very impressed.

I do agree a lot of it is jealousy, I just think if Steemit is trying to be the next big thing after youtube (right?) how many successful female you tubers don't use this to their advantage also?
Secondly, I also agree- if the post is awful quality and completely generic it shouldn't be upvoted- but the few that do this shouldn't be able to ruin it for those who do make quality posts and also use things to their advantage such as their faces. I mean, if males all wearing a certain t-shirt suddenly made all of them gain a lot of up votes, near on every single male would jump on the band wagon- quality or not. I suppose its just the way of the world! Thanks for the comment :-)

I think while it's widely agreed that steemit needs to become mainstream, many actually dislike what mainstream sites thrive on and hoped for something different to flourish. And as @database mentioned their are those who are simply jealous and feel that they put more effort in than those reaping the rewards.
Now while i'm not the type of woman to watch make up tutorials or follow fashion blogs it's quite clear that in order to achieve that mainstream goal we need this sort of content so of course it is getting high rewards.
however the pretty girl in a bikini posts constantly at the top of the trending page is having the opposite effect with many of the women i brought to the site leaving because of it. We really need some female whales voting up the variety of content we want rather than what the guys think we want.

In my opinion if the females in bikini pictures are related to what they're posting great I.e holiday travelling etc. But if they're just doing it solely for likes then that is another case. It would be nice for a niche market to arrive but I believe steemit bosses (the ones whose upvotes give you the most payout) like the more mainstream posts so as to attract more of an audience. As after all if it is niche it won't attract as many users as they intend and want for it to use. Thanks for the comment :-)
