Hear hear. I am here in hopes of finding a new social media platform where people actually engage in a community-oriented manner. If I want a bunch of "likes" and little genuine engagement I've got instagram for that. Though it seems that people everywhere are obsessed with "followers". The human ego is a hungry hungry beast.
