Scammers & Fakers. Consider this your wakeup call! - Steemit wants you but None of us needs you! - The truth and nothing else.

in steemit •  8 years ago  (edited)

I've never understood the reason for pretending to be someone you're not.. I can see one reason when it comes to Steemit.. But you are WRONG.

I will tell you why and by the end of this post I truly hope that you will see things clear enough to never try to fake your way to success.. First of all.. What is a scam..?

A fraudulent scheme performed by a dishonest individual, group, or company in an attempt obtain money or something else of value. Scams traditionally resided in confidence tricks, where an individual would misrepresent themselves as someone with skill or authority, i.e. a doctor, lawyer, investor. After the internet became widely used, new forms of scams emerged such as lottery scams, scam baiting, email spoofing, phishing, or request for helps.
These are considered to be email fraud. On steemit it's nothing more than a fake verification and a story.

Before we dive into this further, I'll share this with you.. I believe there's at least 4 different users on Steemit.

The good, the bad and the ugly.. And Stars.

As most people always want the bad news before the good news, I'll do so even here..

  • The Bad. A person who will try to attract readers & upvotes by literally copy content from someone else. The bad will always try to get rich by stealing content. Some of them get caught doing this and some of them earns a few hundred bucks from a single post. The content often varies from anything between heaven and earth.

  • The Ugly. A person who will try to attract readers & upvotes by pretending to be someone else. Someone more famous. More reputable. Often a "superstar" of some sort. These people are nothing but fraudsters. Other scenarios with these little fuckers are that they often try to convince users with fake verification signs held by a girl. Most likely due to the high payouts on some of the introduction posts.

The bad will most likely try this a few times. With or without success, this person will leave quickly.
The ugly will try this multiple times. Often a bunch more times than the bad. No matter if they score big or not, they will keep doing this many times, using the same concept.

  • The Good. A person who will attract readers & upvotes by simply being an awesome person. A hardworking person who believes in original content. The good guy provides quality content no matter what niche it is. The good guy also believes in steemit and are trying to become an reputable & established user.

  • The Stars. A person who will attract readers & upvotes due to their success outside of steemit. A famous youtuber, blogger etc. A person with two hundred thousand followers and things like that. These people are obviously good too, but they deserve to be listed as "stars". Apply everything from the good guy to the stars as well.

The sad part is.. That the bad and the ugly doesn't need to do this, but they BELIEVE they have to.

If you take a look at some of the popular posts we've had on steemit.. You can find these five. Note that these 5 are just randomly picked among all the outstanding posts we've had on steemit.

5 different authors.. 5 different stories.. 2 different genders..

Can you see anything these 5 posts have in common..?

  • They all share details from their personal life.
This is their life stories. You read the first "secret" pages of their diaries.

  • Oh, you've probably heard about the make up tutorial too right? .. Unique content. There's no need to say anything else besides that.

You can find it here

With this said I'll let you draw your own conclusions. Anyone, no matter who you are, where you live or where you've been in life.. Anyone can make it on steemit and everyone is welcome.

And because of that.. There's no need to fake your verifications or any stupid things like that! - You ARE welcome here no matter who you are.

What are you afraid of..?

  • Afraid to show the real you? - These people did just that and they scored big time!

  • Afraid of not being native in English and having a few spelling errors here and there..? - Some of these had spelling mistakes too.. And they scored big!

  • Or is it that simple, that you believe you're just a boring person without anything of real value to share..? - That's up to the readers to decide!

Stop wasting your time by creating a bunch of fake accounts, fake verifications and fake or copied stories.. There's no need to do that on steemit. Anyone can earn, just give it a shot!

Heck, you could even write a story about WHY you faked your FIRST introduction post or whatever! - Be unique. Be you.

Stop this Scam/Fake nonsense now!

some people put so much effort into finding a short cut, they miss the real rewards. they'll either learn in time or another site will come along thats easier for them to scam money out of.

Yeah, I totally agree with you. It's sad.

Hey great post. There will always be people who try to scam it's just their nature. The world is full of educated derelicts but persistence and determination are omnipotent.

Thank you. Yeah, you are correct, which is why I made this post. Steemit might just be one of the only places you'd never need to try to pull off a scam!

The bad news is that I really enjoyed your post and we know that are a lot of good people who made great posts and didn't score big but the good news is that they keep trying and they will score big or they already did it. I joined steemit 3 weeks ago and I didn't make much, but I'm here on a long term and I learned a lot of great stuff. For me, it's a great reward for now until I will make a great post and hit it big. The bad news is always a good news because you know where you was wrong and you can fix it, so you just write only good news my friend.

Haha, that's a pretty cool way to see it. Thank you, I appreciate it :)

I think many might start off trying to be half pie true, but they are chasing the money too much and get desperate. So they start posting anything that will (what they think) make them money even if that means stooping so low they lose all morals and begin the new journey of plagiarism . Or they are just scum to start with,lol.....Nice post:)

Thank you for your comment. They're probably just scum from the very beginning.. :D

Afraid if I put all on the table and then I'm just standing there thinking:
"Huh, guess I'm worth 10 cents. Who would have thought."

I can understand that. But how about writing in chapters then? - A little bit of you, in multiple posts.

Good idea. Thanks!

You're welcome! Good luck! :)

I don't steal content from others, but I try to learn from what others have posted. The community is fun and it is great to be apart of but let's face it most users are here for the money.

Yeah, most people are here for the money, I agree on that part.. But, that's the thing though.. You don't need to pull off scams to make money on steemit.

Initially I was not going to upvote this because it does not apply to me. But off course, thinking about it, if I was a scammer, it might make me second think and change me into becoming a better person with better ideas other than scamming. So I am upvoting not for me, but for the sake of others. I think this act of mine alone is something that many people should consider and think of because even I almost did not upvote it simply because it did not apply to me. But lets be honest, it is a good post and it can help others.
