You're welcome to participate in all of them.
15 SBD might not sound like that much, but one should be aware of the fact that SBD's are trading for about $10.5 on Bittrex right now. So the total real value for these $15 SBDs are approximately $150. This giveaway is easy and anyone can participate with just a single comment.
Like I've been saying multiple times lately, I want to encourage, inspire and motivate my readers. I want to make Steemit a better place and implement more fun. What else can be better than to give away some free SBD? - The only thing you have to do to participate, is what you're already doing on Steemit. - Communicate.
I have not been able to decide on the total amount of giveaways I will have, but I will make at least three of them, in these few short upcoming days. If all goes well, I'll increase the amount of giveaways and I would love to announce a minimum of one giveaway per week in the future.
I wasn't sure of exactly how to distribute the prizemoney so for this first round, there will be three winners. Each winner will get $5 SBD. Money will be sent upon payout of this article. (7 days from now). - It must be at least 5 participants for this giveaway to take place.
As this giveaway is very easy there will be no judges. The only thing you have to do, is to comment on this article. I will not accept spam or one-word replies. ("Thank you", "great job" or "fantastic work" doesn't count either.) Winners will be decided with a random generator., (random.org). So I cannot affect the results in any way.
I might go with co-judges and/or manually select winners in future giveaways if I feel it would be necessary or in case I increase the prize pool. Until then, randomness will decide.
ARE YOU READY?
It doesn't matter if you've been on Steemit for several months or just a couple of days. I want to hear your thoughts and your feelings you got when you first arrived to Steemit.
- Did you feel welcome? - Not welcome?
- Did you like how the interface looked like?
- Was it easy to understand or confusing?
- Did someone told you to join?
What brought you here and how did you feel?
And that's all for this giveaway. Simply tell us why you joined and how you felt when you joined. By leaving a comment you will automatically participate in this giveaway.
I thought of how I would be able to make money on here since I was pregnant and unable to work . I literally was home for the last couple of months , sat down and started trying to create “quality” posts . There were many times I wanted to give up , bad days where I made a few cents but I never gave up. I started to focus on commenting commenting commenting and I got to the point where people told me I was everywhere that’s how I got their attention to visit my page as well as start becoming a better writer along the way. I am very thankful

I came back in May, the reason was to support YouTube truthers who were being demonitized.
I have never been on any other social media platform before and had no idea you could write here as I'd assumed it was just a blockchain video sharing platform such was my ignorance. I decided to start writing a few posts to say my piece about economics, politics, gold, silver & crypto.
I was getting the standard 4-5 votes for 1-2c when I met @sirknight and became a founding member of @teamaustralia then I was lucky enough to dicover Discord and the #MinnowSupportProject right as it started.
I can't speak highly enough of the folks at MSP, they completely changed my outlook on the world and people in general and inspired me to expand into a bit of comedy writing too which enjoyed a lot.
Since then it's been onwards and upwards......
Why?
Because to do well at Steemit you need friends, real followers who actually follow, people you can learn from, be inspired by and who support your work, who you support back in kind.
I recently took a break from posting for a week and then two weeks, finally it turned into 7 weeks. It was the those friends who cajoled and inspired me to start writing again.
There are so many positive things I could say about Steemit that are obvious, like you get paid for writing, but I've never cared about that. It's the people here that make it an awesome place without them I would have probably left a long time ago.
Just my 2c dude.

I arrived late July 2016 after I saw a post by dollarvigilante on fb. It took me exactly 2 hours from the time I saw the post to become a member (and I had to go to work during that time too)! Things happened quickly then!
I've been suffering financially as a small business for years now and I immediately viewed Steemit as HOPE. I have not been one of the most successful authors on Steemit, but I have been consistent and made some income which has always seemed to help me at the most opportune times.
More than that, I have met some of the most awesome people ever, and learnt new skills, such as HTML and about cryptocurrencies, which I had no clue about before I joined Steemit.
I have introduced a few family and friends to Steemit, well more like rammed it down their throats, and now they are happy I did, as they all became as addicted as I am to this very different but fantastic community. Steemit has changed my life, as it has become a significant part of it, and by all I have learned.

My first thoughts!
Wow! People are actually making a money off of posting blogs about their travels and other simple things. This might be something worth while after all!
After posting for a month.
Ah...I see. There was this time when the first people in made a huge amount of the rewards and became whales. So, now, they post and everyone upvotes them in hopes of getting a little snack from the curation. It also seems as if some people write extra paragraphs and repeat themselves in order to get to a 1000 word limit that helps with SEO or something. Oh, look, some "get rich quick" guy game over from YouTube and brought all of his
suckersfollowers here to upvote his posts. Oh well, I'll keep on posting and upvoting, because, hey! It's free money. Two months of postings later
Well, this is going, but going slowly. I see that the there are whales posting stupid videos of themselves saying absolutely nothing, so that they get the upvotes on STEEMit and watches on YouTube. I actually watched a live one and instead of begging for STEEM like everyone else there, I replied back to what he was saying. He noticed. Didn't give me any free STEEM. Okay, whatever. I'll keep posting on.
Three months in on posting.
Ugh...feeling burned out. I need a vacation.
Four months into posting
Well, I really need a break from this, good thing I have a vacation going. I wrote a bunch of fun articles that I liked. Didn't get a ton of upvotes, but still doing better than most.
Fifth month of posting
For fuck sakes!! DDoS attack? For the entire month? Ugh...
Six month of posting
Well, I have settled in. I probably should do better, but I think I've put myself into a rut. At least I'm still earning some pennies.
Seventh month posting
I can't believe I've been here less than a year and people look to me as an expert. Hmmm...maybe I'll try posting about cryptocurrency trading and see how that works for my rewards. Nope, nothing yet.

When I first entered on Steemit, I felt as if I could make a lot of money.
Fast forward a week, I felt that it was just another Ponzi scheme where all whales are from the same team who just upvote each other and earn just to show off to minnows.

I was a regular watcher of Adam Meister’s YouTube channel. He’d mentioned Steemit several times (he’s @bitcoinmeister here) and I finally decided to sign up. I joined right after HF 18 when the reward pool was reset so my first five or six posts earned zip. Of course I had no clue about HF 18 at the time. Was very confused here at first. Eight months later, I’m somewhat less confused. 😂

Well I'm new to crypto currency, and i heard about steem from some training videos I purchased on stackskills. Interface was easy to work with, but the technicalities of upvoting and curation, not so easy to understand. It has been welcoming since users have offered mutually beneficial advice on things like how to tag, and to enter contests! It does feel daunting on how to get past newbie status though!!

I had first discovered Steemit while doing research on the blockchain and its various applications. The idea of a decentralised publishing method had me intrigued, so I joined to further scope the platform's mechanism. The White Paper gave some insight, but lacked in its explanation for Steemit's practical experience. After two or so days of searching through the tags while waiting for my application to be approved, I found several intriguing posts and began to understand the environment and its difference from other social media platforms.
It was a bit of a learning curve to learn to navigate the UI, though it became easier to grasp after those days. I have prior knowledge of HTML and markdown coding, which was a non-issue with creating my first posts, though markdown is simple enough to understand without prior coding experience.
I must admit to being pessimistic on reception from the community when I made my intro and subsequent posts. That, however, faded into a neutral skepticism and later into an optimistic approach on the future of Steemit. I received a fair welcoming response and it helped ease the anxiety of venturing into a new concept.
From the various posts aimed at minnows, I first concluded that I would probably not see any return on investment in the immediate future, and I was surprisingly wrong about it. It hasn't been much in the way of rewards, but it has been encouraging and a challenge to make Steemit a serious investment.
As the first week passed, I understood the dynamics of the community and the variables that determine certain aspects, such as reputation, SP, STEEM vs SBD, and vests. All-in-all, it requires some focused participation, yet the platform is rather easy to learn. As a result of my experience, I have become invested in Steemit's success and will continue to contribute to both the blockchain and the community built upon it.

I first heard of Steemit via the Dollar Vigilante as I was interested in the cryptocurrency reporting in their newsletters. I decided to join and see what the fuss was about. I spent a while perusing and the very first reflection I had was that it reminded me of the Black Mirror episode 'Nosedive', in which everyone is sugary nice to everyone for fear of not being scored favourably. However my final conclusion on this point was that the internet has enough spaces for trolls to be nasty and spread toxin, and people get enough to deal with in their day to day lives, so I was quite happy to go along with the friendly community vibe. I do enjoy it and might now be slightly addicted. I've mostly been interested in the homesteading and cryptocurrency types of posts. I would consider in the future dedicating more time and trying to establish a half decent income stream from scientific blogging, I really can't be bothered with 9-5 anymore! I've been recommending it to lots of people but it's interesting the resistance that people put up to joining!! Most recently a friend said "yeah but, not even my friends are interested in my life, why would a bunch of people on the internet care about what I get up to?". He has since been convinced and is registering now. :)

OMG same thing. I thought of the episode as well. At frist it was plastic and I thought, "Do I have to be good to people all the time here?" and then as days went by I soon realized that there is more to being good and pleasing to the eyes in Steemit. Its more of building a community.
Really love Balck mirror. Waiting for new episodes

I know! I can't wait to see the next season - it's so creative.
I'll have to say that it actually is quite pleasant that everyone is so nice!!! And I've sort of trained myself into that old adage "If you can't say anything nice don't say anything at all". I have been fastidiously been avoiding talking politics on here as I'm not sure I'd not end up in a muddle with it!!!
There is one thing though. I came across a little bit of really toxic anti-feminism and quite obnoxious and insulting chauvinism from one user. I felt so angry at what I read, it was really abusive language... I mean, I lost count of how many time he used terms like "big fat lesbo", "spiteful carpet muncher", "decrepit cow" etc. I even spent ages writing out a big long resposte. But then I realised it was total feminist-baiting and I really didn't actually want to have any connection to the toxic individual as goodness knows what sort of nasty trolling would come back at me. I was disappointed to see that I couldn't even flag the individual anonymously... I realised I really didn't want to be identified by him as linked to flagging activity. I didn't really know how else to flag up the vileness of his content so I just unfollowed and carried on with my life happy that I wasn't him.
Perhaps there's a protocol for that, or some users who have large amounts of reputation who can easily deal with that and sort of have it as their mission, if there is it wasn't obvious to me. There's so many odd little nooks and crannies in this steemit ecosystem! I didn't even really feel like I wanted to start a conversation about it anywhere as I get a real vibe that there's a lot of people on here who are very self-righteous about it being censorship free and a place for free speech and I couldn't be arsed having to deal with those kind of tirades.
There's such a weird wave of anti-progressiveness in the world just now.

I felt that I discovered a whole new world together with the other cryptocurrencies in general, that I had little time to know.
On Steemit I felt very welcome, and you were one of the first to receive me and give me support, even before making my introduction post (Thanks for that @hitmeasap ;) )
I have to say that I loved this place, all the new things I was, and I'm still, learning, the community, and the potential to generate income that this platform has.
I really do not find it hard to understand, I feel that I adapt quickly and I have learned a lot about how steem and other cryptocurrencies work, and now I share a lot of that with the Spanish speaking community.
Although I have not been the most consitent, for various reasons, I hope to get much more out of this on many levels and continue to grow on this platform.
Thank you for making this contest and for the support you gave me especially at the beginning, which is probably when it is most needed. Steem On!

Yes, I did. More welcome than I had in many years on other types of platforms. I felt communities were here for each of my interests. Most people were warm & friendly to me when I first started on steemit
Did you like how the interface looked like

"If there was one thing you could do to improve steemit for all users what would it be? How would you do it & why?"
Mute vs Block functionality-
Why would the user prefer one over the other
You could also give people goal oriented tasks in your "contests"
Like name three people you curated today, & have them list the posts & why theyfelt the need to curate those specific posts
^ that would be interesting to know because some people don't actually go through the list of people that they follow unless prompted by what they see on the "home page" so obv it's easy to miss things.
You could obtain interesting info about people's voting habits too... like why I have more upvotes than views for instance? That's not always the case obviously but I've never understood upvoting without commenting...

That's awesome, thank you very much!
To answer this:
And this is obviously just my personal answer, so others might have different opinions or reasons for it.
However, I upvote a lot of different content. Both manually and by following @teamsteem's curation trail. That way, I've figured that I'd be possible to spread my votes on tons of content and reward many different authors. Even though my votes haven't been worth much, (I got a delegation from @fulltimegeek yesterday so it's worth more now though) it's still a token of appreciation and an act to encourage and motivate the authors.
I probably comment on 2 out of 50 articles I vote for or something like that in total, and that's not because I haven't read the article, it's actually most due to the time it takes to write the comments.
If I would have to comment on everything I voted for, I'd probably be voting on 80% less content in total, as it would take tons of time writing all the comments. - That's why my upvote is an act of appreciation and a symbol of encouragement and motivation.
At least that's how I want others to see it.
Regarding the amount of upvotes contra "eyeballs", it's easy to see that many users are either upvoting by joining curation trails or by other automatic means. And by doing that, the won't count as a person who've seen the article. Which is one of the reasons for the "eyeballs" to be less than the amount of upvotes.
Another factor is that people tend to support their favorite authors, no matter what they publish and without reading everything, because they know the content is good. Or at least should be good enough to support with upvotes. That's why they upvote before even reading it.
All that being said... I do try to reply on all comments on my own articles though.

Those are some really good points. I was just trying to gauge how the "average" or somewhat newer Steemian does with their votes. I've always said I'm thrilled with lots of "low weighted" votes because it's more eyes on my content but now that I'm analyzing more carefully I know that's not always the case.
But right now I'm manually curating on my personal account like I always have if not more....
I'm running the @eastcoaststeem as well following over 70 active accounts, my voting power is super low but it is labor intensive to comment on everyone's stuff... I'm thinking down the line I may not be able to leaves the most thoughtful responses because with time ECS will grow. Well I'm blabbering here... you've given me some great food for thought.
On the other hand if I see that someone is almost always upvoting me whether or not they leave a comment I always go check them out

Ok that's cool, thank you! 😊 I'm hoping that social media, and the regular media will move towards this type of model, letting people choose what is news and what isn't.. I've always been sceptical towards mainstreaming media, and even more so the last few years because of how badly the whole crypto revolution has been covered in Sweden. I'm not sure if this has changed by now, but a while back there seemed to be so much misinformation that I just had to assume that there could be as many errors regardless of the topic.

I learned about steemit from my sister. She was really excited aboit it since ahe wanted to be a blogger. She told me aboit it and i ahrugged it off since I believed I had better things to do. When the value of steem dollars in Bittrex rose, she was frantic about the money she made in one sitting. I first joined the Steemit community because my son recommended to me. He thought it would be a great place for me to hone my writing skills, perhaps share some knowledge and meet new and interesting folks. If I made a little extra on the side, it would be a bonus for me.
Steemit has been a most supportive and welcoming platform. A positive experience on the whole.
I must admit it has been a bit of a learning curve for me. I had no experience, none, zip, zero, zilch with social media. I had steered clear of those mediums. I was not a youtwitface.
I am grateful for all the support folks have given me in helping learn the ropes, so to speak. Thank you so much.

I was excited about finding a new social media platform that paid. Josh Sigurdsen turned me onto the concept, but I was still VERY unsure about crypto in general. I figured I had nothing to lose but some time so I jumped in. I was and remain intimidated by the chat rooms and all the advice to "join the chats" left me a little discouraged, but things have progressed OK without them. I was overwhelmed by the "new" tag, hard to find what I wanted to read, but there were enough tutorials onboard to get me up and running. I was REALLY excited about the reputation score aspect, and so focused on that more than money so I was DEVASTATED the first time a bot accused me of "spam." Never going to like bots for that... lol! But I am really starting to feel "at home" now, really enjoying the writing opportunities and the contests. Did you feel welcome? - Not welcome? I felt very welcomed! My introduction post received a lot of support and I got a lot of help
Did you like how the interface looked like? I do like it, although I would prefer a better way to discover tags.
Was it easy to understand or confusing? Commenting and sharing was easy. The difficult part was to understand everything related to the steem token, the differences between steem, steem power and sbd

Firstly when I joined steem it was purely because of coincidence ...my cousin's a tech geek ,he advised me to do steeming .First I thought it would be a nice experience...but when I banged my head for almost 2 months then I realized it was hell of a job after that I was out of steem for almost two months ....but now m back with all energy and enthusiasm

Hey! I joined around a year and a half ago now, and at the time I definitely felt welcomed. Everyone seemed polite and helpful, although I was confused by the concept behind Steem, SBDs and steemit in general. Being told you'd get money for blogging and voting on blogs seemed like a some kind of scam in my sceptical mind, but as no one was asking for money to join or participate, I figured how could it be a scam? It did take a little while for me to grep the concept though, but yeah, it was definitely a welcoming community for newbies back then.
There have been several design/user interface changes in my time here, and at first it was a crappy experience on my phone, but it's improved HEAPS since then (thanks to the dev team for that!)
I read about Steemit online (maybe on techCrunch, or similar online tech news site) and signed up that very week.
This is a great ideas by the way. We have to keep users engaged if we're going to succeed and make steemit live up to it's potential!

I remember those days... The early days. I was skeptical too when I first arrived here. Very skeptical. Not even once during my whole freelancing career have I've seen people being rewarded hundreds or even thousands of dollars for a rather simple introduction post... And many introduction posts got that much rewards back then. - It was crazy!
Thank you very much! - That's what I've been thinking..
This article has got about 2-3 times more comments already, compared to my other articles, so it definitely seems like it's working exactly the way I was hoping for.
Now, I just hope even more people will join and I look forward to do many more giveaways in the near future too. Just as simple as this one! :)

My second impression was this will definitely save the world and provide a better alternative than our social networking sites out there .

I joined just a few months ago on a lark and didn't touch my account after that till a few weeks ago when I decided to go look around. I played with a few apps, I posted a pic of the moon, I uploaded a song I made with fruity loops last year, and then I noticed something strange...
I really was getting payed for this stuff.
I was dumbfounded.
I had been posting for free on twitter and FB for years. Hell, I've been posting on the net since 1993 in some form or another. BBS, irc, Twitter, friendfeed, FB, Soundcloud.
None of that payed me a dime.
I made a couple comments. I got payed for those too!
Liked some good blog posts, $$KACHING$$!
I figured I should #introducemyself. $$KACHING$$
Resteemed a post from MSP, got 10 steem!
Granted, I haven't made much but it is about 1000% more than I've ever made before. I will never waste my time with social media again. I'm all in. Full Steem Ahead.
As for what I've done with my earnings so far, the only sensible thing possible...
Reinvest them in the future of the internet, Steem!

Did you feel welcome? - Not welcome?
I've been on here about 2 weeks now and I have felt welcome from the very beginning. My first post got a few replies and I was able connect with some really nice people.
Did you like how the interface looked like?
Eh. It's a little clunky, but it works fantastically!
Was it easy to understand or confusing?
It was fairly easy to understand, but I'm still confused about witnesses, voting and vests. It's on my list of things to learn.
Did someone told you to join?
No. I saw a brief description of it on a Facebook group. It was billed as Reddit with money voting. I needed to see what that was all about.
What brought you here and how did you feel?
Curiosity brought me here. I feel ecstatic that I've finally found a place to converse with forward thinking individuals. There's enough informative, well written content here to keep me reading for months. I absolutely love that about steemit!

Day 1 here felt crazy! Coming here from YT (I joined to support the YTbers I Mod for to support them) and as is my normal when I learned something new about this site I shared that information with them so we were on the same page. It has taken 6 months to get a good foundation under myself but it is the Community here at steemit that is like no other site.
With my back ground being in Bonsai (bonsai is borderless) I was stunned to see a site that was also borderless and not a wash, rinse, repeat of like FB is. I love it here!

I just started posting eight away so there was no welcome or kinda like that. When I joined I didn't know anything about cryptos, just heard about Bitcoin. Steemit made me familiar with exchanges and cryptos.
For few months I didn't even know what is difference between sbd and steem, at that time steem was dirt cheap so in payouts we used to get more steem than sbd, so I used to think sbd is more precious then steem. My first good payout was 17$ in which I got around 50 steem.
I read about steemit from forum named thebot.net, it's actually make money online forum but never made anything decent there but it's good that I came across steemit through it.

My brother told me about this platform. As a personal trainer and online fitness content creater he saw the potential in me. As soon as he told me about it I gave it a go in the most positive way ever!
My first three days have been AMAZING to say the least. I received so many welcomes and words of encouragement. In my journey I was able to motivate a few other newbies to pick up the camera and start vlogging as well!
I was SUPER confused by the interface and was asking my boyfriend a bunch of questions that he didn’t even know the answers to. But after a little bit I picked up the concept. I still need to do more research on converting SBD to power and everything! I know I want to reinvest into the platform because I’m here for the long haul.

i found steemit when i was in my lowest, it was kind of accidental, i was browsing through an seo/make money online forum when i stumbled on @sirwinchester thread about a social network like platform that you earn just by posting, curiousity brought me over and my first few posts had not lived up to my expectations payout wise, but i stuck on, and learnt that steemit is more than just an earning platform, there is no community like this anywhere else online, and these days i don't concentrate on the payout but just having a nice time and making good contacts on the platform. its been such an awesome experience and continues to be so.

my my my words elude me when i want to recount my joy at joining steemit, it was from a facebook post of @jerrybanfield that got me curious and i decided to take action, i signed up and lady luck smile on me when i did my introductory post. i got a whales vote worth $200, wow that was some encouragement, i got hooked and evenmore so when i assimilated into the community and found out how warm and friendly everyone was, then it was just not about the payout anymore, it felt like home and not a day has passed since then that i haven't logged on to steemit, even if its to read nice post from good and consistent authors. about the interface, i thinks it was ok then and its improving daily and steemit is getting better overall.

Well, when I first came here. I thought I might not write at all, maybe just make comments and upvoting. After reading a lot of blogs I thought maybe I'll just write something kind of small. Well, I did do that and was afraid that nobody would even look at it. I was surprised to get some upvotes. Then I made some more really small things with pictures. After awhile I thought I'd write like I talk. I got that from a book called, If You Can Talk, You Can Write by Joel Saltzman. Then it started to flow a little better. I don't get as nervous as I used to when I first started. I did find that people here are very friendly. So that helped me to keep going.

A friend who is also a colleague at work introduced me to Steemit. And from that day on, I've been an active Steemian. Steemit has become an essential part of my life. When I first made posts on Steemit, I hardly earned a dollar. However, I wasn't discouraged because the community made up for it. I had been blogging before I joined Steemit and my blog was like a ghost town... xD But here, I got active followers.. I even got friends with similar interests. Blogging became so exciting for me, thanks to Steemit and the lovely people here.

I felt welcome from the start. My partner found steemit after we started investing in crypto. I already blog and make nothing for all the time I invest so I thought why not give it a try. It was just about understanding the new platform. It cant be any harder than building a website...
Hmmm... To be honest currently I find it a bit difficult to navigate and nearly impossible to understand the curator v whale v other stuff. Nothing I won't learn but being less than a week in its still incrediably confusing. I havent had a payout so i am unsure of how that all works. I am however excited to delve deeper into the Steem community and look forward to counting myself amount the stemians.

I got here through fellow cryptonauts and articles about mining. My first thoughts were, how awesome the post quality is on this platform, being used to cat photos on platforms like facebook. The second thing is the reward system that let's everyone participate and get rewarded for their content contribution, instead of getting their data monetized by facebook. Now that is what I can a revolutionary concept. 2 months in and I love it, my feed is a top-notch read every day, I'm barely spending any time on other platforms now.

I certainly did and didnt, steem was rising and lots of new people were flooding in but of course this attracted a lot of bots to join too and I sometimes got flagged for no valid reasons.

Yes it was for some time but once you started to understand the basics of this platform it was easier every day.

I felt immediately welcomed. I joined in June 2017, right around Father's Day.
My first post didn't earn a lot at the time, I think it was around $10 or $20 at the time, and is probably the highest payout I've ever received on Steemit. Although it took me a while to really get comfortable with talking on a blog-like environment, I became comfortable with talking to many of the more seasoned Steemians.
The interface was bare Bones, and I enjoyed the simplicity. The current layout is fine. There have been some useful updates and probably some necessary ones, in order to "put a better foot forward" with a friendlier "face" of Steemit. Overall, I'm still here, so nothing has turned me completely off from being here.
I liked that I could come HTML in my post to make them look better. This made things easy to understand for me, having coded in HTML in the past and being comfortable with it. Markdown was a new thing, but had a pretty quick learning curve if you have an HTML knowledge base.
Nobody told me to join. I saw Steemit on a news article / advertisement related to new technologies on an investment sure that I frequently use for my job. I did get a new user to join though! Even though he hasn't taken to Steemit as much as me, it was really cool to see him join and take on his own blog.
I'm extremely happy to be here and hoping that Steem, and Steemit, break out in 2018 like so many other crypto have over the past year!

Yeah, I have definitely found that the prior coding experience has made my time on Steemit much more enjoyable. If I never had the experience, my blog posts would probably all be giant blocks of text with no pictures and no hope in sight.
Thankfully that's not the case. I have well-spaced paragraphs, formatted pictures, multi-font sized / formatted text .. and a little hope :)

When I joined Steemit, many people congratulated me and welcomed me here.
I liked that.
I tried to interact with them. Some of them interacted back with me.
To be honest, I didn't like the interface and I still don't. I truly believe that the interface can become greater and charmer.
It was very confusing and painful to understand all the stuff about Steemit. Truth be told, I might still not get some of the things and how they work.
But I tried to understand them by myself and by asking people here.
As for how I joined, the answer is Yes.
I was told by a stranger big brother. I heard from my father that He met with him one day in his shop. My father had a chat with him. When he heard from him that he is a freelancer, my father took his phone number for my sake.
Later my father asked me to meet with him and I did. I learned some things about Freelancing from him. Then at last, he mentioned the name, Steemit and told me to check it out.
So, I did and here I am.
Main reason that I am staying on Steemit is because it pays.
Rather than wasting my time on Facebook aimlessly, I decided to spend those times here. :p
That's all I guess :D

I haven't been on Steemit for a week yet. I came across it when I was researching the blockchain and strong AI. I checked it out a little before deciding to join, but first, I had to get an account and I ended up in a endless loop in that process but overcame it.
There is more learning curve with Steemit than with most social media and sometimes in wanting to do things correctly, I found outdated instructions which led to a little confusion. Having to use markdown was a surprise to me and the tiny little built-in editor soon had me running to MacDown.
The people have been friendly enough. My last comment is that although we are rewarded for our long term commitment, there sure are many people wanting to get rich quick, far too many posts on cryptos and making money.
