I just got introduced to Steemit by a colleague earlier today..
After reading some posts, and starting to understand how this works, I believe this will be a big part of our future.
At least I hope so.
The potential for Steemit seems huge. On the top of my head:
Open source - When great programmers spend their time making incredible programs and codes, and further on distributes them, we'll be abel to pay them back what they deserve.
Freelance journalism - Mentioned by a colleague, Steemit gives us the opportunity to appriciate, spread and pay back to those who contribute to brings out what the mass media silence out.
Steemit brings a new player to the crypto-game - I can digg that
