why is pizzagate no longer a topic on steemit?
if it's a "bug" why is it not fixed?

^^If you click on the tag in your post for #pizzagate (<---or that right there), you'll see it's still very much a topic, but others have outweighed it in popularity at the moment, so it's not on the list of the most popular ones on the front page. That may change if the tag regains popularity and momentum.
All tags are rollercoastering on that list.

When you search for it at the top right search panel and click on 'more low valued posts' It still does not appear; This is the bigger issue. Is this a bug that has yet to be fixed?

That's the same with any tag that's not in that list. I've been requesting a filterable index of all tags, regardless of whether or not they've been used 1 time or 500,000 times. Browsing all tags alphabetically, for example, would allow us to truly explore the different categories that have been mentioned and posted about on this platform. There's an expanded list somewhere, but it's still really small.

May I suggest a sticky on pizzagate to outline what is happening. A few people have called censorship on their experience and I was a little confused when I noticed that the 'more low valued posts' had no effect in finding pizzagate.

OH so that is how the tags work. I could never figure it out when looking for new topics to browse. Surely we can have a better way.

the co-founder of steemit said it is a bug. he did not say it is normal that it's not showing.

The whole tag indexing thing needs to be renovated in general, especially if the current version has bugs. The best solution is an ever-growing index page that adds all tags - even if they're only used once. The view would default to alphabetical order, then can be filtered other ways, no different than when viewing a file browser. Alphabetical, most popular, most recently used, date created, etc.
I also want to be able to mute tags, this way I can continue following the users I want to follow, but can mute the posts they make for tags I don't care to see.
So, say there's an artist on here whose work I absolutely adore, but who posts a lot of political stuff. I don't want to fully ignore that person just because I might think they're overly-political because I love their art. To be able to mute the "politics" tag (which I would love to do) means I could have that cake AND eat it too.

@ned claimed it's a bug in a comment he posted on my post a few days ago. So it is meant to be in topics. Thing is, this is blockchain. Things are supposed to be permanent. So why do they disappear?

Streemian offers an easy solution... just copy the following address into any feed reader: https://streemian.com/rss/pizzagate
I use a plugin for chrome browser but there's one for any browser, computer or phone apps, etc... you even start a blog of it elsewhere fairly easily. If you need any help let me know and I'd be glad to help. PS you can do the same for any tag, just change the "pizzagate" part of the address to whatever tag. Works for authors too, just put @in front of the authors steemit name instead of a tag. Your rss feed would be https://streemian.com/rss/@in2itiveart

JP thanks for the useful tip but that's Steemit's equivalent of Facebook asking all users to type in the url, for a page they like to visit. ie I am not excusing Steemit. they must fix the bug Ned said they have. If topics disappear it affects the popularity of the topic. Chicken and egg.

I don't believe in coincidences... nor do I believe that steemit is trying to censor pizzagate, however I do feel that this "bug" or bug needs to be fixed... and I hope that happens sooner rather than later... my intuition says it will be fixed after Jan 27.

Why 27 Jan @in2itiveart ? Just curious. :)

@gizmosia...because the shadow of this past Mercury Retrograde ends on the 27th. Mercury being the planet which rules communications...this seems to be what happens during times like this, and then once it passes, these things straighten themselves out.

Ok, that I know about. Good spotting. :)

I definitely agree. They really need to fix that bug... or should I say "bug". I was just trying to be helpful and point out a way people can make sure they can never miss a pizzagate (or any other category) post.

I realized that. Have a great day JP :)

I will.. Same to you :-)

@winstonwolfe Nice. I like your ideas.
