No SPAM Allowed!

Im writing this post to help all you new Steemians who have just joined and already I see you posting links in every nut and crack you can find... Not what Steemit is all about and any platform for that matter.

Here are a few tips that you may want to read through that can help you when it comes to knowing what spam is and wether you are guilty or not. The purpose of Steemit is to bring value to the "community" and you are "rewarded" for this in the form of an up vote or a share....who will want to share your link ? think about it.

Before you post ask yourself:

  1. Does this post help others, is it bringing good value to my audience?
  2. Are people going to be offended by this?
  3. Does it look like I'm just out to get Upvotes?
  4. Does it make sense

These are simple questions you can ask yourself before posting. Remember to always proof read your posts also, If you are not good with English then hey ... we are a community here so why not get a fellow steemian to proof read for you before you post. Check out the Steemit Chat it is a great place for support.

Using images in your posts

I had some people ask me how I use images in my comments and my posts, I actually have many websites which i create and code myself so I am lucky enough to be able to have full control and host my own images and access and change them.

But with that said anyone can host their images for steemit using Steemimg check this out, all you do is upload your images here and you can then use the address it gives you to use that image in your posts.

Test Test Test

Don't get yourself down if you are not making any money in fact don't even focus on the money side of this, I use Steemit as another platform to reach out to more serious marketers seeking value. Test out which Tags are getting you more attention and exposure. More importantly you should see which tags are being used more by your target audience and niche, when you start reaching out more in the right places then your relationship building will start to get bigger and better.

Build relationships correctly

When building relationships don't just follow someone and thats it, or add random people and request them to follow you back as this is not the way to do it. You want people to follow you off their own back because they have seen your content and liked what they saw, this means that you will get future engagement from them.

When leaving comments on others posts make sure to add a little value with your comment also such as something they may have missed, contribute to their post further helping others. A little tip when uprooting others comments is to let them know you upvoted and why you did it, you are then more likely to get a follow in return.

Now...

Lets go back to the original source of this post, If you are just spamming then you are NOT doing all the above..I wonder which one is getting better results?

Hope this has helped and please if you do have anything to add then up vote, comment and Re-steem.
