Write your own story; in a metaphorical sense.
What do I mean about story? Each one of us has our own unique stories in this life and it's truly an incredible gift. Sometimes we share our stories at the dinner table, or at a camp fire but all the same; we are explaining who we are.
Life can be hard, full of pain and full of pleasure too. However, are you writing your own story or are you writing someone else's story? There is a massive difference here, allow me to explain.
In this age of endless information it's easy to get lost and start taking on other peoples opinions or beliefs. (When you read someone else's book you are essentially absorbing their information and it becomes a part of you). If we think about this a bit deeper, it means we can be influenced by other people without even knowing it. This is fine if the information we take in is of positive nature to help propel us forward, but often times it's not.
Social media platforms are full of negative news feed and this corrupts our minds with fickle stories that are not our own. How can we be happy if we are spending our time observing whats happening on the outside? Giving our time and attention to stuff that we don't even care about? Obviously this is a problem on a large scale and for many it's something nobody thinks about.
Nobody thinks about what they want. Rarely many write their own story in this life and as a result they help build other peoples dreams and sacrifice their own. Instead of talking about our own beliefs and experiences, we talk about the hot topic on the news instead. How could this ever benefit us and make us happy?
It's time for us to change this, to focus on what we believe and who we are! Ever experience how good it feels using a journal? It's because what you write is entirely originally you!
Friends, let's write our own stories in this life!
