I've met some very DECENT people on steemit. Why did that never happen on facebook, reddit, or twitter?

Today I realized, I have a better chance of meeting the best of the web on steemit than anywhere else!

The idea of steem and steemit is to build a *brand new* social network. A community of strangers who can interact with one another, and share in the value of it.

IT WORKS!

You get paid to upvote good content.  You get paid to write your own good content.

The value of the system is obvious.

I've only been here less than a year, and already I've been able to decipher good people vs bad people.

What does that mean?

  • Some people are here for the greater good.
  • Some people are here for themselves.

The lines are blurred... but if you spend enough time here, people's personalities become obvious.

I can count at least 10 people I've met via steemit that I treasure, and would have never met otherwise.

I can count at least 50 people I've met via steemit that I normally would shove past on the sidewalk and have no time for...

That's life.  However, in blogs, we spill out our life and our thoughts to whomever is listening.  With enough time it becomes very obvious who is here for money, and who is here to just be the better part of society..

Read between the lines and you can see it too.

I love this place.

That is a very intelligent blog post, probably my most favorite one I read tonight. As a newby, I appreciate your insight.....it gives me something to think about, and choose to be a light rather than a suction cup.

With that mindset, you'll do really well here. Good people shine quite easily on steemit.

P.S. it just takes time. Don't give up, and just be you. :)

Good person meets good people.

You are quite a positive person, aren't you?

Good for you!

Upvoted and followed there.

Each and everyday I wake up, I want to be positive, and want to meet positive people with positive aspirations. Unfortunately that doesn't happen very well. Yet I can't shake my positive outlook. So yes, I'm a positive thinking person... and I hope I never see the day that stops. :P

So:

I want to be positive

Then:

Unfortunately that doesn't happen very well.

And:

So yes, I'm a positive thinking person

Don't think positive. Do positive. Don't be unfortunate. Be fortunate. I only wish you all the best.

It's almost like Ghandi wrote that... Makes a lot of sense.

Question is, why do you agree?

Because our lives are what we make them. Not how we are perceived. Do what is right and feels right... and that's as simple as it gets.

Not how we are perceived

Perception is a form of criticism. You accept criticism as feedback? And life literally changes. You ignore, well, then you live in this deluded bubble you have created yourself seeking positivity and happiness and whatot.

Just brutal truth I have observed over the years.

Sensing some negativity there. Behind every great comic is a world of hurt. Surround yourself with the right people, you can conquer life.

I see, we meet again! * evil grin *

I liked how you concluded. :)

Just so you know @prakashghai you are one of the 10 and you're still new. You expanded my horizons. Before you, I didn't know what minimalist photography was... and your choice of photos to showcase a person selling peanuts for a living woke me up to my own issues that I deal with everyday. I complain about my life, but I'm not selling peanuts.. but if I had to, I would. You brought an image from Jaipur (Northern India) to share that daily life there.

Most people will spend a large sum of money and vacation time to travel to India to stay in a hotel, airfare, and walk the streets to see something as simple as this..

Your photography is very thought inspiring. It's ARTISTIC, in one of the best forms.

To put it simple:

We never would have met on facebook, twitter, or reddit. BUT on steemit we did!

Lol

I suspect you don't get as much as I do out of person selling peanuts for a living. Where I live, NO ONE does that. This is a big deal where I live and perhaps where you live... it's very common.

Eh, I didn't even read that comment. All I saw was a wall of text there. So was loling. :)

Well gee.. I'm not going to pour my heart in thoughts if you're not going to read it... awww

Don't take it to your heart. I have a funny character account, so I do this often. I do read.

Thank You @intelliguy that bag of $0.15 cents of peanuts created our bond here. All Thanks to that old man ☺

I was here for money, but now it seems like it's changing and I am really glad about that :)
