In another victory for die hard cryptocurrency proponents, SIX GROUP- owner of Switzerland's primary stock exchange- yesterday expressed "the possibility of offering cryptocurrency trading services on its digital trading platform by mid-2019," according to COINTELEGRAPH.
While clarifying that SIX GROUP has not confirmed the cryptocurrencies to be listed for trading, Stephen Meier- the spokesperson for SIX GROUP- stated on COINTELEGRAPH that the company would “technically be able to add various digital assets to the platform” after a “due diligence process.”
Given Switzerland's reputation as a leading global financial centre, if SIX GROUP succeeds in getting regulatory clearance for the listing of cryptocurrencies on its platform, that would mark a major step for crypto coins in the bid to attain mainstream status.
