Don't forget to BELIEVE in YOURSELF!

......

In general I would consider myself a fairly positive person and I always try to look at things with a positive perspective however- I do have my days, where hopelessness seems to get its nasty little grip on me... it doesn't normally last long though as I have learnt to hush that little voice of doubt.

What needs to be understood is that no matter how strong-minded, positive or optimistic you are - there are sometimes going to be days or perhaps even just passing moments when you question yourself, your choices, your abilities and so forth. There is purpose for this...

It affords us perspective! It is like attending a regular board meeting with yourself to ensure that you are still on the right track - and once you have had the “chat” of silence with that little voice of uncertainty and revived your belief in yourself then you can once again begin to move forward even more assertively.

Life is a process of putting one foot in front of the other each and every day, no matter how small the step or the amount of time between steps. Just continue to reassure yourself as you go…

Nothing else matters!

Just keep on, keeping on!

It's so hard to omit those thoughts that I can't do this and that, I don't know this and that. Insecurities and low confidence suck! I need to exercise in believing my skills and knowledge; that I'm capable of doing what others can do. Pulling yourself out from the abyss is a very very difficult thing to do but, it's not impossible.

@jaynie thanks for this inspirational post. I always believe in myself and have faith in myself.
Let me fill you in on something. When I joined steemit last month. I said to myself with the earnings on my blog I will pay my university tuition fee roughly $70(15sbd) and this Saturday that just pass, I paid the fee without my parent's help.
I did believe in myself and had faith. The great in me defeated my obstacles.
I was very happy reading this @jaynie

We should definitely believe in ourselves... but I also try to remember this: Without those occasional moments of self-doubt, I'd become an insufferable know-it-all, and that's not how I want to conduct myself in life. Self-doubt offers balance; and if we don't allow ourselves to slip into those occasional dark moments where we see the doom and gloom... well, it would be harder for us to feel true compassion and empathy for those who are struggling much harder than we are.

One major problem I have is lack of faith in myself. Funny enough my name is Faith. I most times doubt my own ability and capability. I listen to the voice of doubt and I let it overwhelm me. Even when I do things that surpasses my expectation, I still doubt myself.isnt that funny? But i am learning to believe more in myself through personal counseling. I'm learning to hush the small still voice of uncertainty and move forward with a positive optimism and so far has been so good.

@zizmena, It is somewhat ironic that your name means Faith... but perhaps that is because it is something that you will learn throughout this life. At least you can identify with that weakness and you are working at changing it... thats what counts and the longer you persist with it, the easier it will become :)

Thanks @jaynie. I think you are right that it is NOT necessarily bad to have that small voice of uncertainty come into play. It keeps us grounded and makes us realize with that much more Conviction that we need to stay Positive !

I find myself walking down the path of doubt. My saving grace is Ray, he always stays positive and helps me out of my slump. Not that it takes much convincing to get out of it 😉

This is a constant reminder that each of us undergoes similar situation of doubting ourselves and I agree that it's a time to assess or recharge ourselves, and if our foundation of thinking positively is strong, then this self doubt can easily be replaced by our self believe.

Morning Jaynie. Yes, I think we all have inner doubts and a crisis of confidence at times, as well as low moods a quarter of the time. I don’t believe that there are people who is always strong or optimistic etc. We are human being and we have a soul. But as you mention it doesn’t matter how strong we are. The thing is how we continue to take steps and heal ourselves. In any case we have to find a way stand up again..

If you believe in yourself then you're crazy according to me. Believe means trying to bullshit yourself about something that is not within your capabilities. You need belief as a starting fuel but you also need clarity and courage to be able to forge a plan and execute it successfully for the purpose of accomplishing your goals. But what many people do is just fill themselves up up with self-belief nonsense and try to bullshit their way throughout their entire life. Now if this is what you meant by believe in yourself then this non-sense coming from a person who adores genuinity I.e. genuine behaviour is just downright disappointing.

Otherwise, it's okay if this is what it meant belief-getting the ball rolling-plan-execute-adjust-adapt-improve-goal.
