Hello fellow Steemians!
I have yet to make an introduction post since I want to put some time in it. Unfortunately, I'm in my exam period so I don't have a lot of free time right now. But I do want to make this post since I feel something should be said about this.
I see a lot of people working really hard to make funny, entertaining, inspiring or informative posts. And they have a hard time earning upvotes, even though, IMHO, they deserve it. They put in a lot of effort to build the incredible community that is Steemit.
Unfortunately, what I also see is posts of people just uploading sexy pictures of themselfs or their SO. In their underwear, in a sexy position. maybe a few toys in the frame... And of course, all of their posts get lots of upvotes. And they earn good money from it. Because humanity ofcourse.. Sex always sells..
Now I'm asking myself what will stop Steemit from becoming a social medium flooded by softporn and camgirls, etc.. once it's popularity grows? I don't think that's what Steemit was designed for and I believe people who positively contribute to this site should be rewarded the most. I'd hate to see Steemit go down by this. What will the community do when they realize they're earning far less than people who barely put effort in their posts and just sell sex... Either they'll quit or do the same?
Do you guys think it will be a problem for the future of Steemit?

Yes I've been here for a week as well but It got my attention very early. The NSFW section is basically filled with porn, no sourced pics etc.. I find it hard to ignore, I see accounts just posting porn constantly and they're receive around 50$/post.. It's ridiculous.. I could stay home, post porn all day and get rich..

TBH I believe that there should be place for everything. In the end every post gets reviewed by the community willing to spend time watching the stuff that is out there in the NSFW category. You do raise awareness and try to spark conversation which is always a nice thing! Nice post! Keep it up!
