Overcoming writing slumps - What to do.

in steemit •  8 years ago

I've actually recently had a writing slump. I couldn't concentrate at all when I tried to write articles, and didn't have many ideas either.

It's frustrating to have no ideas to write about. Trust me.

I'll give you some tips on how you should overcome a writing slump, in case you come across one in the future:

1. Get sleep.

Sleep is important for your brain to function correctly. I find it extremely hard to focus on things when I'm sleep deprived, especially if I'm writing all day.

2. Watch the news.

See what problems are present in society. These are all ideas for your writing.

3. Look at the trending page.

Take a look at what other people are doing. These are again, all ideas for your post.

4. Watch a movie.

Take inspiration from fictional characters. Remember you're not restricted to factual information in your post, but also fictional ones.

5. Watch funny videos.

Relax and rewind. Don't put too much stress on yourself. Remember, writing is fun.

Great tips! Sleep is very important you need at least 7-8 hours a day to be at 100% in your mind. Sleep problems are one of the leading causes of problems in our society if everyone got more sleep the world would literally be a better place.
