STEEMIT, IMmutable & UNcensorable? NOT quite there yet... or maybe...

Considering, we all ARE on a blockchain fellow Steemers, all your posts end up on the Steemit chain, for now, that technology doesn't allow us to upload media to the Steemit blockchain. If you have media embedded like foto's or video's, and host them on 3rd party services like postimg.org or youtube.com it's quite possible your content can be removed one day.

Consider self-hosting your media, but this could bring your anonymity in jeopardy, in case that is valuable to you.

What do we think about: storj.io or Maidsafe? I'm not sure if this could help us Steemers.
Let me hear your 2 cents in the comments.
Maybe @ned or @dan can chime in and add some technical information to the commends.

It would be really interesting to see a synergism between STORJ and STEEMIT, It would allow for immutable decentrilized uploads and storage as well as the steemit side immutable blockchain.

marriage made in heaven IMO

I think that is what we're aiming for.
I will need so much more resources though...

Good point to make about the immutability. It's only immutable if it makes it onto the blockchain. And links to third party sites may make it onto the blockchain, but that doesn't mean the site behind the link will continue to operate.

exactly

This is an important issue, thanks for bringing it up. IPFS should be considered also, though we are not guaranteed that the images will stay up there. If MaidSafe is released it could be a great avenue because my understanding is data will live forever on the network.

Maybe I should dive into it.

Hmmm....... you might be on to something there
