A number of cases have been raised regarding the various issues hindering the steemit community. These are all along in regards to whales but also the minnows response to the whales activities. Many posts have been written and there is an increasing reward of the whales which pushes the minnows to really look up to them as examples and successful people.
The minnows are anxious and have the need to grow and become as big as them and all are linning behind their posts to have attention. This attention is normally done in a way of comments where by the minnows expect at least a single or some steem dollar from the whale.
They say”learn to comment to have whales attention
This option may not be available for some whales. Some even do have more than 300 Sbd’s per post but just looking at the minnows comment who just spent some hours learning from the post is a difficult case for them. I wouldn’t wish to notify some of the whales but I know the minnows know them. Sometimes, it’s known that the whale won’t even look at the Minnow comment, but the minnows still go an extra mile to write comment and even further analyses and comprehensive understanding of the whale post in a comment. Unfortunately, the rich guy is far away to see the minnows sacrifice.
The minnows cry for support.
Steemit is known as a community that support good content. The support is done by upvoting good content. Well, do you think that good contents always have upvotes? I don’t think so. More people are now becoming individually based oriented and won’t take an extra mile to read the least minnows post who just has some cents of rewards. Many people are now tempted to use other means as bots to become more visible but still no one to support them.
Honestly, how can you have 78 views, and just 2 steem Dollars?
I think this may discourage new guys to join steemit. I personally do Hustle to reach 5 Sbd’s on steemit with the whole days I’ve done on steemit. I don’t want to blame the whales, but my point is that the essence of minnows spending 2 to 4 hours working on their posts it’s because they need the whales attention.
Unfortunately, the whales are busy writing their own contents, upvoting themselves and then upvoting none of the minnows comments. I personally gave up on some whales who always appear on the trending page on a daily basis. Making over 300 Sbd’s per posts, writing on 3 posts and then just ignoring the minnows comment. This issues has caused some of the whales to engage in some quarrels within themselves.
Since whales are now fighting, there is a great risk of minnows being down voted.
I have seen it in many occasions and this really piss me off. Why should some whales downvote some of the minnows comments? Everyone is not meant to accept their views and it’s also preferable to always follow and support their views, after all minnows should be free to write whatever they think is right. Should we call steemit a free community and a dictatorship based in the hands of some few powerful people?
I do not say that whales are not supportive, but this would be if only they knew the Hustle of minnows.
Everyone would wish to be on the top and having attention. We all have the stories that can change the world. The minnows really sit down to build their contents and make all their possible ways to reach out to make their contents known to as many steemians as possible. I personally do use bots to attract some people and read my posts if I believe my content is good. Some whales are busy upvoting newbies, some others don’t temper with the newbies and others are just there looking at the newbies comments and then ignoring them, also others go and decide to join other whales and lead to a flagging war.
What happen when a whale is flagged by an other whale?
All of them start following each other and start flagging even the comments of the innocent minnows. The minnows start suffering and wondering if they have done something bad to the community. I don’t really think that this will be a good idea from the whales. It’s preferable that minnows comments should be considered other than flagging someone out of nowhere and even when the post was not written by that particular whale. This shows that there is no more freedom of speech which may lead to a total silence from the minnows, all ignoring the posts and boycotting it though with rewards.
On my view, the steemit administration should think about it.
I know the number of whales do work to support this network to grow but at the end of the end we may loose everything if there is no significance action of solving this problem. It’s just funny how someone can be posting 5 times and always be on a trending, especially posts regarded to bitcoins or cryptocurrencies.
Some of them are just mere graphs and unreliable analysis. I believe this will even cause the value of steem or Sbd’s to depreciate since some of the big people may be misusing the funds.
It is believed that the steemit administration doesn’t really respond to people’s complaint’s but the point is that at the end of the day they will have to loose after years of hard work trying to perfect this network. I wouldn’t wish bad from them but a rapid answer is needed from them, if not we shall loose this platform when actually the few people were not able to use well the resources given to them.
Some of us the newbies fear to post some things thinking we shall not be recognized. That even if we are recognised chances are there that most will not read your post. This has caused us to somehow doubt ourselves thinking we should just keep reading other people's posts as we learn what most people in this community pay full attention to,so that we can do the same in order to get that attention.
Thanks for the post, i pray it helps alot

I hope so. The idea is just to speak the right thing and explaining the content following our personal view of understanding and not just to sympathise with the writer.

It almost sounds as if you are describing western democracies. This has a tendency to happen within communities regardless of the medium of exchange, whether dollars or steem... I guess the only advice i could give is, don't give up... Cheers.

Nice article. On point! This is also why some of my friends quit steemit.

Great issue well ironed out my brother @jona12. I like your being straight in expressing concerns like this one.
