Erik Finman, a high schooler from Idaho invested $1000 initially in 2011 when bitcoin was valued at $12. Now he owns about 403 bitcoins with an estimation of $2700 as on today. His family says that he is their source of income for them and they now look into bitcoin as an investment vehicle. His parents also made an agreement with him that he shouldn't attend college if he becomes a multi-millionaire by the time he reaches 18.
When questioned if he would return to college he says he finds no value in writing essays whereas he must learn writing mails to important people. Even when some investors offered him bitcoins or an amount he kept his coins to him. He is learning to the run the business ahead the lane.
The below video is about the talk given by Erik Finman who gave it at a local TEDx event. He says his grandma gave him $1,000 which he invested in Bitcoin as a competition to one-up his brother. Later it grew into $100,000 which he sold later. He now wanted to address some of the worst experiences he had with the educational system. He wants students to learn by experiencing the world the way they want to.
Erik hopes to help other teenage entrepreneurs "because you're never too young to do something great."
Erik is one best example to depict that age is never a matter. If you have that kinship towards something with dedication, then it is sure that you reach greater heights. Good luck Erik!!
Have a nice day!!
