New on steemit? 8 Tips To Help You along Your Steemit Journey.

in steemit •  7 years ago  (edited)

Steemit may look complicated at first, especially with all its jargon and funky symbols everywhere. Who’s following who and what the heck is a vote?

I definitely was a little perplexed right after creating my account, as many newbies out there probably experience too. Luckily, since i had some mentors at my back, have started to get the hang of this platform ..

well i hope you would like to do the same

However, Steemit is extremely useful for making friends and earning money for yourself , It has over 10 million users and can be extremely effective if used correctly. Having been on the network for about a 5month I have come across and figured out some helpful tips for using the network.

Well if you have made an introduction post, you may go ahead and introduce yourself and what makes you the person you’re today. Don’t forget to take a picture of yourself with a sign that includes the date for publication to prove that you are the actual person the post talks about (You can explore the introduceyourself Tag to see for yourself). That’s what most comments ask for a publisher to do if they don’t have that kind of picture.

If you want to make a post, go to Submit a Story in the upper right corner beside your profile picture.

Write long articles.

Long, well-written articles tend to do better than shorter post

using steemit tags is a great way to increase you reach on Steemit, Unfortunately some people new users tend to use tags of which aren't even relevant to the topic of their posts. If you do decide to use steemit tags, make sure to keep it to a maximum of 5, and only use tags that are relevant to your post.

Engage with your followers.

Never ignore your most loyal followers who regularly like and comment on your posts! That's a surefire way to eventually drive people away. Instead, you want to make your followers feel valued. Reply to their comments or even go check out their blog and upvote a few of their photos. You can use a third party tool like steemd.com if you want, to track comments and replies on your posts.

Make money

If you see something you like, upvote it. It is only polite. You help out the author and you get paid for it. The amounts are still not set but even if it is low it is still payment to vote. There are a lot worse ways to make money

Learn about crypto-currency

Since you are rewarded Steem and SBD, you want to cash in on those rewards but this can be confusing for those that are new to crypto-currency in general. Here's a post from @contentjunkie that shows how to transfer your tokens over to Bittrex exchange to turn it into bitcoins!

Take note: Steemit is not some fly-by-night Ponzi scheme. Steemit is about building a community of high-quality people and financing the production of the highest quality content.

So if you’re seeking a short-term payoff with low-quality content that you slap together with little effort, Steemit is not for you. You will be downvoted, ignored and frustrated. Your reputation will not grow and will likely decline. You will not earn any significant amount of money. You’ll be wasting your time.

Welcome to steemit.

Well if you think this post was helpful, kindly upvote and resteem it to your followers
