A few days ago I was thinking it's time we get to show Steemit to the world in one of those big tech conferences usually held in Vegas or LA. During my research into this I discovered that " Content Marketing World Conference And Expo " is being held right in my own backyard, in Cleveland Ohio. This Conference will take place in September and will last a few days.

Proposal
Introduce Steemit to 550+ companies and 5000+ attendees:
What better place to introduce Steemit than a conference about content and marketing. Some of the companies attending are big names like Google and Microsoft. Attendees are mostly CIO's and Marketing agents for these companies.
My proposal is to fund a presence for Steemit in this conference as follows:
- Hire two to four local Steemit representatives to attend the conference.
- Educate these representatives about Steemit and the blockchain.
- Prepare Steemit promotional material for these representatives to distribute.
- Create a video record of their interaction with conference attendees. ( when allowed )
- The best results are acquired by mingling with the crowds and doing one on one introductions.
- There is also a sponsorship option, but that will depend on the budget we can obtain for this Expo.
This Conference will take place in about 38 days, so we have plenty of time to also discuss this proposal and make any changes the community deems necessary. Please support this proposal if you think it will help Steemit. I will follow up on this with more details if it is supported by the Steemit community.

Indeed this is a great idea, conferences are great for networking and getting your name out there. Although the investment mus be big
In my long experience organizing events you need to set a budget first. The budget must include all costs involved, including flights hotels foods stands others amongst the actual event conference costs.
A good marketing and creative director for the event would be a great speaker. If @ned or @dan would be able to get a seat in a forum or Q/A that would be even better.

Regular price is $1,295 for main conference access. Workshops are an additional $495 and available only to main conference attendees. Industry Lab price is $695 and can be purchased as a stand-alone item. If these are really the best people in the content marketing industry I strongly agree that as many Steemians as possible should be there.
In fact I would suggest to leverage FB marketing to find a whole bunch of people that are passionate about Steemit to attend locally and wear our favorite Steemit t-shirts.

Personally I would suggest to have several dozens of folks being present there with shirts if not even Steemit hats (probably still to be designed and ordered somewhere ;-) instead of only 2-4.
But that is just my opinion.
A bunch of those dozens could be mostly there to learn what they can from the event and some of the top experts there.
