Some pitha can be made at any time of the year. Crop festivals such as Navanan (Bengali: navanan "new paddy" or "new food"). Every year, the month of Posh and Magh is observed. The pitha is usually made of rice flour, milk, coconut and jaggery. There are several common pitha found in Bengal.
