PALnet always document and publish everything! Thoroughly does he take upon his position of witnessing, he’s one of the first I have supported. They were my starting grounds for learning Steemy things and though I have ventured from the nest I intend to support my roots.

If I was to suggest a video platform it would be @DTUBE where you can ensure the longevity of your videos with self hosting as anything else can be removed from the centralized hosting servers!

Point was to agree with @arcange that @aggroed should host. Have them do a online meeting in PAL where a system has been proven to be executed efficiently for the entire STEEM community to review, big point, FOR ALL TIME!

@aggroed would be a great contact for hosting a town hall on Discord. Many of the Steem community group together there in regular weekly and monthly meetings. He and others run regular radio shows gathering the community together including witnesses.

Starting to centralize Steemit users would be a great achievement. And the team of witnesses and the new Steemit team. Get together more than you have before. If possible..

And that the new project, be done with all social media accounts under the name of Steemit.. Because for example, Steemit's social accounts in Spanish on Facebook (Steemit en español, Steemit Hispano, Steemit Hispanohablantes, etc, etc) they are all abandoned.

As for discord. More of the same.

Half dead servers everywhere ....

I know that many of those present, of the witnesses hate the word centralization. But right now, Steemit is screaming for it. Centralize and reorganize.

Both the way of working and its users, as well as the contents of the platform (it cannot be that Steemit's technical content takes over the project completely).

This no longer looks like a "social network," it looks more like a forum about Steem and cryptocurrencies. Personally, I don't have anything against that (I love technology), but if the goal was to find a lot of users, I don't think it goes in the right direction.

Discord servers are a nest of dead users, everywhere.

Everyone talks about Steemit. But if you enter the servers, there is no life in almost any of them. Or there are a handful of participatory people (the same happens in almost the entire Hispanic community)

People simply come in to share their post and leave. Come on. An absolute garbage.. U Know

Perfectly, everything would be centralized in one place, but for that you have to work it.

Although it would be great, many do not like to "centralize" but it's a joke for four cats that publish. Are there about twenty servers that say they have 200? 300? 400? users and it turns out that I don't know if they reached 50 or 40 active users? I think I'm being generous..

Discord servers are a nest of dead users, everywhere.

Just like Steemit and the Steem blockchain. There are more than 1.3 million accounts, but most of them are inactive nowadays. They left Steemit and the Steem blockchain over the years. And most of the people, who remained, they focus only on their own posts, they do not care about other people's posts. They are selfish and greedy. Nowadays there are 23-32 000 daily active users, 40 000+ posts per day, but the average number of comments per post is only 1-3, and most of these comments are bot, bot-like, spam, spam-like comments. Many posts do not even receive comments. There are a lot of ignored/overlooked posts. This is very disappointing.

u-huh, i quit my autovoters i wrote up b/c actually about 80% or more of people i followed in my own scripts to vote on since 3+ years ago have quit, most quit when it went below $2 , the rest after apocalypse 21 and i hope the dip today doesn't mean the rest will follow

me, personally i dont have anything better to do and it would be awfully nice to see this marvelous piece of software achieving something other than the 20-people circlejerk from the start (you cant say it like that ! ... i just did ...)

at least somethings happening ! they were talking about communities when i signed up , the price was $7 , you had posts running in the $4000 , bots werent evil (they sold that software for over $1000 a piece and e'eryone happy with it at first)
and then nothing ... and now we get on guy with actual , real wall-street money and they can suddenly dust off the shelf and roll it out in two days and market it as HOT and NEW ...

not happy about the fact that the original inquisition is still state approved and now actually labels people on the U.I. for the world to see, that's like the same 5 deciding what good content is

this thing is less de-centralized than the belgian governments and we have six of those

Yes. I almost 100 agree on that with you. Although I also think that.. I do not know if you are in other social networks or if you read web pages.

If you look, in part, that is the attitude that users are taking the most today.

And the social networks that receive comments. They are always squirting comments. In fact. A large part of the technology web pages where I constantly inform myself.

They have completely suppressed comments, or failing that; They have largely hidden them.

Users currently do not comment, almost nowhere. Except that they need or want very specific information.

In my facebook group. Ocurrs the same.

Users now look for the most instantaneous. Commenting is not, it is not fast, it is not agile. Less from a mobile device.

We could say that now Twitter and Instagram are used, maybe also Facebook. As if it were the old messenger of Microsoft.

But, ¿What is Steemit's big problem?

That in the web pages even if no comments are left they still have Google traffic.

That on Facebook even if you do not comment or think too much, you still have the traffic acquired previously.

What if. You look at the traffic analytics of the web pages or if you analyze the statistics of a Facebook page. You will realize that although there is no such participation.

On other platforms if there are users viewing the content, on Steemit. I have many doubts. I think not. That is the big difference.
I say it because it is something that on the Facebook page I am suffering daily.

It is difficult for me to get users to participate. They make me feel "alone."

And I only get visibility with very specific content.

The technical content is absolutely discarded from the user's visualizations.

You can not even imagine the difference between a publication of technical content, with a publication of a simple and ridiculous technological meme downloaded from Google.

The meme, which took me 3 minutes to download
and publish. In almost all occasions. It is able to multiply the attention attracted by users. Minimum, I would say a minimum of 5 or 6 times more attraction; than any other publication that I have shared. Publications that have taken me 2, 3 or more days to make.

All the content that goes viral, are memes or the "simplest" content among everything I can get to publish.

That there are many variables within "all this". That is something obvious. Equally obvious it is.

That there are millions and millions of people who want memes or simple content that makes them smile.
And it turns out that the witnesses of Steemit or people 100% interested in the technical content of Steemit; how many people can they be? Less than a thousand?

And those less than a thousand are the only ones who are 100% interested in the content we have every day on the cover of Steemit.

From top to bottom.

They are a minority. I would dare to say that they are even a minority within Steemit.

Well, this cause has been like this, since I'm in Steemit; and I've been thinking the same thing since then. But apparently nobody notices.

Or maybe, they don't want to realize, maybe for them, this is their perfect Steemit forum. And they feel comfortable like that. With its own forum.

It's funny that they talk about Justin that he can break the platform with all his power.

Isn't that exactly what all the witnesses have been doing for the entire time I have been on Steemit?

Because it is like that. FROM what I have read that Justin could do now.

All they want. It is to protect yourself from Justin not doing exactly what they themselves have been doing for years and still doing today.

I would even say that, in many cases, regardless of whether your actions hurt the former Steemit team.

It is exactly what the whole group of witnesses has been doing until today. 100% control the platform. From the technical part, to the publications part, the bots part, the benefits part. EVERYTHING. They control everything.

Well, that was not what I was talking about. That is another subject.

I just wanted to say something else. Just I wanted to say.

That when all the people outside of Steemit enter here, the first thing they do is see the cover of the platform.

For them, see that content.

It must be the closest thing to contemplating a conversation between aliens they have seen in their lives.

No one has taken action on the matter, ever. What seems absolutely incredible to me.

How does someone want to attract users to the platform in this way?

It's crazy, but good. It is the reality of Steemit; and exactly for that, among many other things.

That's why I stopped publishing my content here (it wouldn't cost me anything to do it, because on my page, I, public on Markdown. I would just have to copy and paste), but I find it ridiculous.

Because I should lose those 5 minutes. Duplicating my content on Steemit. To post it on a forum about Steemit?
No. Until things start to change.

I thought I could change something with the communities. And I'm trying to launch a community with a little brain. But simply, it is a test.

More. I have already seen all the "communities / groups" of curators creating their own communities. The same groups financed by one or another witness. These "fictional communities" have already become owners of the entire new "communities" section completely on the website.

Instead of creating thematic communities and giving platform users another option.

They just want to do the same thing over and over again. "Don't let anything change, just in case." That is your average thinking base.

They keep doing the same. Because they want to continue defending themselves and harnessing their steem power donated by blind witnesses that allow them to destroy the platform from top to bottom.

So ... More of the same. It is cyclic.

That's why they want to live locked up here.

Anyway. I better go..
Because they enervate me to the point of making me cry.

The potential of this project seems incredible, if someone could turn it around; and do some strength and hard hand.

I see how Steemit has developed and it makes me want to scream, cry, kill myself.

Just by trial and error, sooner or later the project should have found some point of attracting users.

But no. I have been here for two years and nothing has changed in regards to the user.

Yes. Best. I am going.. At the end. It's none of my business, I can't do anything. Also, they told me in their day that it was better for me to remain silent.

So. I better I m go to my home. To continue seeing what happens here from the shadow.

For fear that my criticisms are poorly received and end up sending me to hell inside Steemit. I return to where I have been for almost two years.

You know what's around here. The devil leads the one who criticizes hell later.

And the power people end up killing you. Only. For not licking her ass.

Also. Unfortunately, I don't know English; and that limits me tremendously when participating.

I would love to share many more ideas. Although I don't know what would be better, if I was quiet or talking. Tssssssssssssssss. I'm leaving that I don't do anything, and in my time here nobody rewards me.. 😹

I have felt the same way since the bots were introduced and I investigated who owned all the steem. It was pre-mined and I kinda lost all hope for Steemit. In general, I think all social media is doomed, it really isn't social my friend and when you include money for likes and dislikes, interaction, all the positive leaves. For people like me its nice to get my artwork out. What's funny, I've made more money earning crypto showing and writing about my paintings than selling them!

Users are users of mobile devices; little participatory
Large social networks have traffic that Steemit does not have and that until immediate registration is implemented, it will be virtually impossible to achieve.

I dont see a big issue there and does not surprise me. The site is decently responsive for mobile browsers and there are a couple of apps out there that mostly work. I agree that more could be done on that front.
I read somewhere that this is one of the first things Justin said he wants to work on.

You used to be able to make some steem commenting but there was a hardfork that changed that. Everyone here is a content creator and no one is a consumer, its one of those things that has to change for success. I can post the same post on Reddit I post here and get a dozen replies. No one comes to steem and just browses

This is the problem, which prevents Steem from being successful. If people would use the Steem blockchain naturally, then the Steem blockchain would be a successful thing. But people come here only for the money. And they think only about themselves. They doom the whole platform by their selfishness and greediness.

I think that’s because steemit is so out of date and has such a poor user interface. I admit to being a selfish poster on here I just don’t have to the time I trawl through looking for things I like when the rewards are so low. The stuff I am interested is hard to find. On fb and insta I am far More engaged. It’s just not very user friendly. You can blame users as much as you like but there is a reason people are not engaging. Steemit rly needs a huge upgrade in its interface and the way we see and engage in posts.

I never rly graduated off steem as it’s just too much to hAve all these differnt sites for the same one. I did like partiko and steemshot more but it’s just too many apps for me. I mean maybe this style works for some people but most people I think prefer one user face that’s great.

Perfectly, they could group together to get stronger. But it seems impossible due to people's selfishness.

I think. That we have a similar thought.

What seems clear is that Steemit needs a change in his methodology, or something like that.

And I find it very, very curious. That witnesses seem to want to go out to protect themselves before they even know what can happen.

That is understandable. In part, but ..

They should also be open to changes. For the benefit of all.

The project itself has proven not to work too well for now.

It is clearly stagnant.

I honestly think if Justin wants to show that he's interested and committed to working with witnesses and the community, he should get in contact with y'all, not the other way around. He can't buy y'all's trust and cooperation, and it's not like y'all went into hiding. Personal outreach is considered important for a reason, ya?

I agree with you. Most of the top witnesses don't care about Steem. They just care about how much blood they can suck from Steem. Steemit had become a garbage can for a long time, but none of the top witnesses cares. As long as they can get paid, they won't care about Steem. Who cares?

Tbf I'm not around as much anymore but I agree. He didn't buy trust or cooperation from witnesses, community, or chain, but that only lasts as long as we don't sell it to him. I'd say the first step to earning any of that is doing something concrete, rather than making promises and requests.

Dear Justin, I want to express my opinion on the whole situation. Steem blockchain is a great investment if it's run in the business corner.
I suggested a long time ago to open a referral program and introduce changes, but if the main people are not ready to listen to the proposals of those involved in the business, then we have only a strong developer lobby and then the whole business logic is based on who has more Steem Power Power.

If there is a downvote with which the most powerful users control freedom of speech and opinion then censorship is introduced and there is no freedom of speech and opinion, and we know well that there is no development of society and business. Technical changes are important, but without business consultations with the whole society and with those who are not witnesses you cannot have insight into the whole.

If we want more decentralization then everyone should be able to move forward without any interference and impose rules in communication, blogging, etc.

There are many investors who do not agree with the management of current witnesses, you need to listen to all the options and do what is best for investors, bloggers, developers.

I wish you much success and making the best team possible, and making quick changes to Steem's value.

Instead of witnesses getting a position because of Steem Power, they should get a position because of the number of votes - 1 user can vote for one witness and all users have the same voting power. In that case, they would have more decentralization and positive change.

Justin, I think this is the right move. I hope you realize, thru your participation in DPoS, that the Steem witnesses came together to take steps we felt were highly necessary to maintain the status quo and prevent major changes in the seem consensus due to the SteemIt, Inc. stake.

I would be happy to participate in discussions with you, and the rest of the witnesses, to best figure out how we can move forward in the best interest of Steem.

If played right. I was looking at some numbers the other day and see why he bought Steemit. Tron only had 900 some odd actual users which is but a tenth (if not less) than Steem on the whole. The fact is, despite him bringing the much needed money here and vision, we don't need him - he needs us.

New things bring new options and opportunities. There are so many aspects which could finally change with the support of the tron foundation. Just take marketing as an example - The way the marketing was handled in the past was beyond terrible. It's obvious that good marketing requires resources (money) and with the tron foundation there are finally enough funds which could back up those issues.

Nothing wrong with being septic though. But deciding to leave the chain without having any evidence on what's going on is in my eyes an hasty decision.

How much did Tron paid for Steemit??? 20?% of the hole Steem they bought with it. How much they paid? I do not think, it was 1500 Sat for a single Steem.

Often I saw a new Boss in a Companie. Every!!! times it was a bad desicion for the little ones.

I do not think it worth it. Let us see, how long it needs they sell it again.

The Spirit of Steem died with this change for me. Now, it is the Spirit of Tron.

I feel it is important to show you guys I am here and ready to begin building with you.

This is great news. Thank you for responding so quickly.

Steemit has clearly needed better leadership for quite some time and I for one am excited to see it taking shape. My hope is this new partnership between Tron and Steemit will also benefit the STEEM token holders and the users of the Steem blockchain who have spent years of their life putting content on this chain. The temporary steps taken in SF22.2 were in response to those users who expected their witnesses to protect their chain. Your response and willingness to reach out to the witnesses and have an open discussion is exactly what I was hoping for. I hope the meetings next week with the Steemit team go fantastically well. The witnesses are ready to engage in conversation to find the best path forward for our communities.

Edit: as for the meeting, I hope for a Zoom video call or Discord audio call where the top witnesses can directly participate but all in the community can listen in.

@justinsunsteemit, I know about Tron a little bit, however, I don't know you. I've read the articles about the soft fork.

I understand that it was done to protect property and get the large property owners together to figure out a new way forward while keeping the original idea of Steemit alive.

I also understand if negotiations don't go well property owners can hard fork and continue to grow Steemit as intended in the original white paper. I am going to continue reading and studying Justin Sun's leadership skills and how he runs his company.

I didn't like how Steemit ecosystem was over-harvested by the large whales, there was no governance, in fact Steemit almost seemed like a giant money-laundering scheme.

I did actually make some money from posting and working the bid bots. However, the bid bots took all the fun out of my networking and community work, along with very little protection for our fragile ecosystem and poor governance. That's when I left. I'm back because I am a curious cat and I want to be involved because Steemit introduced me to cryptocurrency, which has turned out to be a great investment and way to get paid for social media work and awesome people.

A total of 670 registed witnesses. Some of them are no longer witnesses as their names are crossed out. So, it looks like around 100 or less active witnesses as of right now. But I still think it would be better if Steem had as many witnesses as Bitcoin has miners. I think Bitcoin has thousands of miners. I know witnesses have to be voted on and miners are not voted on. A miner is just a machine that is mining Bitcoin. Can a single witness have many different Steem nodes? I am asking because I am hoping that the Steem nodes can be as decentralized as possible. I would say the more the Steem nodes, the better.

That reads as very unstable. It is assumed that the "formula" of the witnesses is thus "built" in the "post" of stability.

You've never had errors in Bittorrent ... I do.

Steemit can't be a P2P .. Sure. Surely there are already more advanced protocols than P2P. Sure.

But I doubt its stability, either P2P or something similar.

Witnesses do not seem like a bad technique despite all the scalability problems they have.

From my point of view, they need to work more together with their backs to the public.

And it is necessary to look for some formula, which separates as much as possible. The witnesses of the curators and even the rest of the other projects.

At the end. Witnesses are like judges; And it can't be. Let the judges, be those who make the laws, those who judge and the prosecuted. Everything at once.

It is necessary to perform a separation of powers.

In this point. It could work perfectly @justinsunsteemit and try to make witnesses see different points that perhaps they have not been able to stop to see until today..

But for that it is necessary to be noble, work as a team and forget about profits for a moment; and focus on a future project that generates users. Basically. Because without users, there is no project..

If witnesses are like judges, like you wrote, then I agree. It is similar to letting those who own land vote, historically speaking in the United States, and that can be a better system.

I would favor a hybrid of Steem witness nodes as the main core fused with an option, an extension, of Bit Torrent or IPFS or P2P style or Bitcoin like seeding or mining as a way to help distribute and redistribute Steem content, the web pages, etc, to help seed the content in a decentralized method, assuming it doesn't already do that.

The problem of such a system. From my vague point of view and from my ignorance.

We would all have to start mining; and that reduces the number of Steemit users.

For a minimum of users, those with technological knowledge? And that they should also feel the project as their own, to see how they get involved in it.

It would not be much simpler. Simplify everything to the fullest, try to win users in bulk. Clean the visual face of the platform. Insert ads and pay witnesses with your money for honest maintenance. If necessary.

Talk to witnesses and promote changing the way you donate the Steem Power. Support more new users and fight because they become continuous time users.
It offers a platform with better content for them.

You have to try something new ... And although there are still 100 voices of witnesses who defend their small interests.

It seems that it is impossible for the platform to float again.

Not to mention the visual damage and marketing that all that does. The feeling of a flimsy project is transmitted, for every pore of Steemit. For each witness that opens a new "spectator" or "fork" (steam peak, busy, etc., etc., etc.)

I have been in Steemit for two years.

They have been making changes almost compulsively all this time, I don't see the improvement anywhere.

Maybe. It is time to look for an alternative path, or not..

Why not make it optional? Isn't that how Bitchute works? Same thing with Dtube where you don't have to do IPFS to watch videos on Dtube. But you can if you want.

It would be like an add-on option. I would make the seeding, the mining, etc, optional, so that it doesn't change anything about what people have to do on Steem, on Steemit, on Busy, etc.

Bitcoin, Bit Torrent

Thousands of people around the world use Bitcoin, Bit Torrent, Bitchute, IPFS, seeding, mining, etc. So, some people would do it for Steem. So, make it optional like Bitchute.

You don't have to do it on Bitchute but I think they have it on Bitchute. In other words, we can still keep it simple like you said.

User Interface

Yes, clean the face of the platform, the user interface (UI), of the apps of Steem, would be a very good idea, that is to keep it minimal, as in simple. Yeah, to newbies, forks are confusing.

Firefox

Firefox is always making changes as well. Technically, Microsoft operating systems (OS) are always making changes and that is why you click to update your computer ever week or two. I use Ubuntu.

Delegation

So, you mentioned donating. Delegation in SP to witnesses can help. Yes, you can donate through delegating SP to witnesses and that is a good thing to do.

I would expand that beyond top 50.. As a former top 20 witness sitting around 70 at the moment would like to be involved as well. Sucks that we had to pull out the nuclear option in order to establish a concise communication between you Justin and the witness community.

Will find a way to be a part of this chat somehow though.

This v0.22.2 soft fork is almost entirely the fault of the FUD that has been flying around. If communications were clear from the get go I do not see that this would have happened how it has.

What are you talking about? There will just be a meeting, the bigger accounts and witnesses will be satisfied they will get a good deal and Justin will then do whatever he wants. And fuck the rest of the people, just like in real life with politicians. And I am not against Justin Sun, this has never been decentralized, just a small group of people have always held the power so for most of us there will not be much change and anyway we don't really have that much to lose.

We're just taking the steps necessary to not be absorbed into TRON. He could just give us lip service and then do whatever the fuck he wants.. True.

The DPOS nature of STEEM makes it that only a small number of people have control over running the code that runs the blockchain... It sucks but that is how it is.

We have the entire chain to lose if this goes bad... I don't know about you, but I don't want STEEM to get absorbed by TRON then have to pay to make a post or comment or transfer..

We could have come up with a multitude of solutions. That 51% of all witnesses must employ a HF for it to become recognised like most PoW chains. Just throwing that out there... yet there would have to be countless changes that could be made to thwart Sun while at the same time thwart other whales. Thwart everyone equally. This is extortion and looks like ETH classic from here.

P.S. Dropped all support of witnesses which installed 22.2 so you understand my withdrawing your vote. My choice affected every witness not just you.

Only 17 of the top 20 witnesses need to run a new version for the chain to switch over to it.

The back-up witnesses such as myself do not really make much of a difference in what version we run.

This isn't about thwarting whales at all.. This isn't even about thwarting Justin Sun..

This is literally about keeping the STEEM blockchain from being shut down and rolled into the TRON blockchain.. As Justin Sun stated he was going to do initially. So unless you're down with STEEM being shut down, and being moved to TRON, and being charged transaction fees on all operations such as comments, posts, transfers, etc etc.. This is what had to be done. Does it suck? Fucking rights it does, but with Ned selling us out to someone who wanted to dissolve STEEM as we know it, this was basically the only way to ensure that it wouldn't happen.

ETH classic was to reverse a hack due to shitty coding, our fork is to save the blockchain itself.. Not sure how you can compare the two.

I understand where you're coming from with your statements, but you're looking at it from angles that weren't even considered when we rolled this out.

We're trying to protect STEEM, Not fuck people over. Temporarily forking out one persons access to ensure the rest of us still have STEEM to gather around is what we are doing here.. :/

Only 17 of the top 20 witnesses need to run a new version for the chain to switch over to it.

My off the top of my head suggestion was to imply that 51% of all registered witnesses be required to institute a HF. That way not only the top 20 would have that decision and there would be too many witnesses for a whale to control like in the case of the present system. This was just an off the cuff suggestion of how we could look for a generic solution that would affect all accounts so as to not simply targeting one.

This is literally about keeping the STEEM blockchain from being shut down and rolled into the TRON blockchain.

If that would have been the lesson of DPoS then we should have learned from it and progress towards a REAL Hard Fork. Tell Mr. Sun that. Tell the community that and do it if he used his stake to influence witness voting.

The Computer Scientist in me would suggest the following start up for the new model...

Start a new chain with all current accounts starting at 500 SPs.
Bring back miners that STEEM originally accommodated.
Require 51% of all registered witnesses to agree to new HFs.

The loss of my Dolphin status would be excepted by me for this second kick at the can. But that's not going to happen. Too much vested interests and not a prevalence of scientific curiosity. So the best solution, in my opinion, would have been one that affected all users while hampering/thwarting/hoodwinking Mr. Sun as well.

If we'd done this when Ned was still running Steemit Inc this would have been viewed as the nuclear option. (In my opinion)

With Justin running Steemit Inc I still consider this the nuclear option, however it has opened up communication channels to it's far less detrimental than it could have been.

What do you consider the option above this, that you would consider the nuclear option? Honestly interested to hear your thoughts on this.

Is being a witness the same as like running a website? I know it is different but when you run a Steem node, does the node have to be online 24/7 or what happens if you lose Internet connection as a witness? I think it should work more like Bit Torrent if it doesn't already.

Running a STEEM witness node isn't really similar to running a website.

Node must be online 24/7. If you lose internet connection then you will be unable to produce a STEEM block when you a scheduled to.

It is p2p in a sense.

Yes and no.

Bitcoin mining anyone can do with the right hardware.
When running a STEEM witness you need community votes in order to be allowed to produce blocks. All witnesses do is collect operations such as votes and transfers and put them into a block, every 3 seconds.

We had POW mining in the beginning.

All STEEM happens to be is a decentralized database. However the majority of the blocks are created by the top 20 witnesses voted by the community.

I'm not against what you are saying here.. However as it sits I don't see it happening any time soon as would be regarded as taking a step backwards.

So, Steem had proof of works (POW) mining. So, now it is proof of brains or what is it right now? What kind of mining would you prefer and how many kinds of mining are there? I believe there are around 5 different kinds. I am still not totally sure which I would prefer. Yeah, I agree that many of these things may not change any time sooner, perhaps. I am simply here to encourage people to talk about making things better, assuming it is even possible to improve the system. But not to say that I am right about what I say. I am only trying to suggest ideas that might help. But I could be wrong concerning the specific details.

The spirit of the blockchain movement starts with GPL-style concepts, where we value the community over the guy at the top. However, while I am so happy you are seeking a physical audience with the top 50 witnesses of Steem and reiterating your push to sync Tron's creativity to Steem's which are for our good, you have not expressed your displeasure or support to the Softfork which is crucial at this time.

We the community on Steem are curious to hear your stand on the Softfork which directly bothers the usage of the massive Steemit Inc stakes.

I agree wholeheartedly for the need for a Town Hall Summit.
I would encourage it to take place over in MSP/PAL discord as many have suggested. The format is suited to a large group discussion. It is important here be frank back and forth.

I would STRONGLY encourage however, that a very neutral moderator be in place.

Frankly, I believe someone like @shadowspub be the host. She's extremely fair and even handed. She is not a witness, and will be able to maintain a fair hand in moderating the discussions.

in addition to top witnesses, I would try and find a way to include some voices of the rest of the community, as well. Perhaps a few thought leaders? representatives of the community at large.

Lastly, many users and witnesses were not in favor of this Soft Fork, and it is important that their voices be heard as well.

This is actually not the case at all. It was not a select few fearing a loss of power. It was a rather large consensus of witnesses and other stakeholders who discussed how to best mitigate the potential security risk to the Steem blockchain over a period of almost 10 days.

There wasn't any paranoia and it wasn't some conspiracy between a small group of colluding top witnesses. It was actually a rather good and hopeful discussion between most of the parties involved. And while we all didn't exactly agree on the best path forward, we came to a compromise and did what we felt was needed to ensure Steem's continuity and the status quo regarding Steemit's stake.

Never mentioned conspiracy.

From the first meeting I attended about this prior to today in Pal server. The only thing heard from witness was the need to have a fork, all based on that if Justin Sun uses his SP to vote for a witness.

The status quo as you say is something that I also feel the majority of Steemit.com user base is a self server one to those same people who decided on the sort fork.

There has been a consistent (from many users and witness) voice speaking out against the present way the governance of the Steemit.com platform. For an example the reduction of votes one person can cast to witness which was ignored and still is. The only reason I can see for this is the maintaining of control over decisions made.

The last HF made it even harder for a new member to gain a foothold on the Steemit.com platform by reducing the value of any vote below a required amount. This is done while at the same time the same witness state that retention of users is needed, Mass on-boarding is needed and the need to bring business to the Steem chain. Business will come much easier with a larger active user base, not by the reduction of it.

We see things from different sides of the wall it seems.

I couldn't agree more with the last 2 paragraphs. I don't get the point of onboarding more users if most of them will be left on seen(except for their intro if lucky), if the same people and type of content will get the votes.

The same frustrations I have with the effects when a small sp holder votes for content, a witness, or an sps proposal.

Yes I know steem is a stake based platform but we should at least pretend a bit that we care about the small sp by using 1 to 1 sp ratios instead of multipliers.

At this point even if i still had the urge to optimistically preach steem and sp I don't how I could keep a straight face saying that each vote adds up, that your voice matters, etc.

Steem may be an undiscovered technological gem but, right now it needs users more than they need it, and should strive to be friendlier to them in all aspects.

Just my 2 cents.

On the one hand, Steemit, Inc. might only represent 1% of his portfolio. But on the other hand, there seems to be some kind of strategic value he places on the acquisition. Perhaps the acquisition is currently serving its intended purpose: The Overshadow Voice Theory. Hopefully, once that goal has been accomplished, marketing will get and understand the new memo.

I would recommend one Town Hall voice meeting on Discord followed by rolling discussions in the Steemit Inc Slack where most witnesses and stakeholders involved in governance of Steem already are.

It's hard not to agree with you, that lack of communication creates void which probably will be filled with fear and hostile behaviours. I'm seriously glad that Justin seem to care more about reaching out to steem community than Ned ever did.

One problem I see is the fact, that many power users are openly hostile and very agressive towards Justin and spreading fear within our community. So many oeople do not seem to be willing to give him a chance. Lack of patience is huge problem here.

I'm myself still quite optimistic.
ps. Please consider posting next time within project.hope HIVE if your topic is related to technology, blockchain, AI, economy, business etc. It would help me with your content discovery.

It’s great to see a positive post like this, however it still does not answer the question on everyone’s mind, is Steemit going to migrate over to Tron?

We were told in an AMA that there would be no major changes for now. But since then I have seen no end of conflicting posts from YouTube to Twitter to Steemit and even TRONLINK.

I am sure this is just a little miss communication, and that @justinsunsteemit and/or Tron will be able to provide the Steemit community with a road map soon to provide absolute clarity on steemit’s direction moving forward.

Thanks for the update. I think needs nothing more than marketing. It's a great blockchain and shouldn't be bastardized into another form. I don't remember having ever been interested in Tron as an investment or a community to hang out it but Steem and Steemit is different. Other than marketing its tough to see any major drawbacks that can't be worked through. It's great that you're here just dont crush our throats with your boot and all should be fine.

Both would be good. But since @steemitblog and @justinsunsteemit have been avoiding the topic of SMTs I am suspecting they will try not to release SMTs and go only with TRCs.

It would be nice to hear from them about SMTs.

Let's keep an open mind. SMTs aren't even done and even the version that is "almost" done is a bit stripped down from the original vision. As long as it is approached as a collaboration and with mutual respect it could be possible that a pivot to, say, Steem Communities integrated with TRCs is best the way to go.

Then again, maybe not. But we should avoid tribalism and rejecting anything that is "not invented here" without at least evaluating it. Thankfully with the soft fork in place and the witnesses demonstrating their ability to implement upgrades independently of Steemit we are on a good path to decide our own future.

It is really nice to see a response this quickly. I am optimistic that communication between Steemit, Inc., Tron Foundation, witnesses, and the Steem community at large will improve in this new arrangement. Getting STEEM listed on all major exchanges is a huge necessity, but we also need an amazing phone app and all the features of a modern social media platform including internal instant messaging. Gamification and MUCH better UX design will be a must as well so that people feel like they've come forward to what using a crypto-based platform feels like in 2020.

I totally agree on @justinsunsteemit . It should have happened a bit sooner. Also, I disagree with the recent soft-fork and I think it's totally wrong to freeze someone's assets believing blockchain is an open system. It would cause serious trust issues to the upcoming investors as well as normal users. It shouldn't have happened in the first place.

Well, I believe with this meetup, it would be resolved.

I'm sure that my opinion does't matter. I thought that this would be a platform to launch the immutable truth and permanently expose the liars. I don't have a direct access to the internet. How unfortunate. I thought I would be able to earn crypto currency. Everything on Steemit just changes. I seem to feel the censorship in my guts. I can't put my finger on it but it seems to me that the platform has no ability to tap into my personal currency and assist in its appreciation of value. It seems to me that Fiat Babylonian debt digits are in control of this blockchain.

Hi @justinsunsteemit Thank you for reaching out. I think everyone should have an open mind in the talks but also maybe have a meeting with top content creators on this platform who have been around for years. For the most part the Witnesses are selected by a few powerful votes and they fear losing their grip. The price has been bottomed out for awhile and new ideas are welcomed.
The attrition rate here has been about 99% and most of the witnesses only care about the rewards they are draining from the system.
If it comes down to it do what you need to with this place. It can't get that much worse than the situation it was in.
I would love to talk to you about my ideas that would be a game changer for this platform. Brian

So glad you said @justinsunsteemit because to hear you want to help transform steemit to a truly world class platform is what I and so many others really want hear.

I went to use the community. I posted and cannot find my post - don't know how it is doing.

I went to the community because I thought thos was the only way steemit now functioned because my "feed" link on the menu was gone.

I accidently hit the steemit logo and "trending" popped up and I am still able to reach "feed" from there. That's good!

While I understand the thought that went into this note was considerable, and the "olive branch" to conduct an AMA for the top 50 witnesses seems like an Ok idea at first, you're openly excluding a whole lot of the STEEM Community by limiting entry to such an event.

You won't get full Steem community participation if you open it up for everyone, but by being willing to let everyone attend and listen, you're showing that you care about transparency .. which is paramount when it comes to a blockchain community. By excluding the rest of the community, you've sent a message (intentional or unintentional) that you don't value transparency.

I'm open to hearing more, and do see potential value from a partnership, but this was not a good start in my opinion @justinsunsteemit. On the plus side for you, most people don't listen to me and don't think how I do, so you're probably doing just fine 👍🙂

Answering the many pesky and annoying questions would go a long way to begin establishing trust from those who have worked hard to make progress, all without Justin Sun's influence.

Ignoring too many of the same awkward questions over and over makes it look like something shady is going on. It can cause people to panic, suspect the worst, or take unnecessary counter-measures.

A few fluff questions are in order too, to help break the ice.

What is the naughtiest thing you did when you were little?

I do agree, it must be made much easier to open a Steemit account. I have been on Steemit since August 2016, and those days it was easy to open an account and it was free!! If somebody ask me today how to do it, I will be at a loss. Things should not be complicated.

I also don't know why people should have various accounts - just to vote for myself?? I see people advertise that one should claim your free accounts, why accounts should be free, or at least your first account.

Another thing that bugs me is all these hive numbers, why must it be complicated, how do one remember all the numbers, a simple name should do the trick.

It is quite exciting to have you on-board, I am looking forward to the journey ahead!!

I wish I could take back my upvote for this post. I don't like what you are doing on the Steem blockchain @JustinSunSteemit, you are a disgrace to all people carrying the moniker Justin. And to think you paid several million dollars to eat with Warren Buffet, one of the most evil men on the planet Earth, and his fake love affair with blue collar citizens doesn't fool me. I am only along for the ride, as us low SP content creators are world's apart from the your reality.

You only wrote three paragraphs and didn't even attach one photo for thumbnail purposes. These are basic things veteran Steemians told me to avoid when submitting Steemit posts. But at $247.42 this is definitely way too high of a payout for the minuscule amount of time it took to create. So now I am in the same club as you and Mr. Bieber, and I never even made a conscious choice to sign up for such a club.

You could've used the several million dollars you gave to Warren Buffet to increase curation and post payout rewards to the Venezuelan Steemians struggling to make ends meet each month. !giphy regrets

@justinsunsteemit I just found out that the largest group in the Hispanic community abandoned the boat and went to another platform.
If they did it is because you are obviously doing things right.
Those groups slowly ruined steemit. And I was one of the few who said it to his face.
With their authoritarianism, they created a platform where they did not let anyone grow and those who told them things like me, tried to destroy everything we achieved.
I ended up getting tired of so much injustice of that great group and abandoned steemit.
But I'm thinking of going back now.
When the rats leave the ship, the disease ends.
Hopefully it will be a fairer new stage in steemit.
Count on my support in the Hispanic community

The Mathematical Treatise in Nine Sections (simplified Chinese: 数书九章; traditional Chinese: 數書九章; pinyin: Shùshū Jiǔzhāng; Wade–Giles: Shushu Chiuchang) is a mathematical text written by Chinese Southern Song dynasty mathematician Qin Jiushao in the year 1247.
