Guys, this is why Steemit is huge. Real charity--no middleman bullshit--in action.

(The SBD proceeds of this post will be donated to @maya7)

A few posts ago I shared fellow Steemian @maya7 's post asking for help to provide supplies for her flooded village in India.

All I did was make a post encouraging folks to upvote and resteem her post. She has already used the modest SBD rewards to provide breakfast for her community, and has uploaded a video saying thanks.

Guys, this is why Steemit is huge. No government. No middle man "charity" organization. I helped this woman get some Steem, and I see it turned into breakfast here, for these folks living in a flooded and impoverished area in India.

You know, there are a million and one "charities" out there that take your money and you never know what happens to it. Now I do this and see an actual video where I am mentioned by name and it makes it all the more real.

WE DON'T NEED OFFICIAL GOVERNMENT BODIES. WE DON'T NEED MIDDLEMEN.

We can help ourselves. We can help each other.

I encourage all of you to go check out @maya7 's profile. See if you would like to help, too. Steemit is a powerful tool, and the potential is only just beginning to be realized.

Wow! Amazing the amount of prosperity and wealth that is capable with decentralized currencies.

Yes. Without the parasites we can do a lot.

ye its amazing what we can now share with other even without any effort to any place in world. For example you helped to guys from India, its amazing power, and its speedy without middlemen and scam , because usually then you donate to charity money goes to pocket usually.

Agreed. Sadly, most "charities" are businesses with CEO's getting paid millions. They are typical pyramid structures with the managers at the top getting extremely wealthy off donations. It disgusts me. I want to give charity voluntarily, and I want my money to not be siphoned off by multiple worthless layers between me and the person in need.

Steemit is making that possible! I want to help my friends and family most though, for that makes it easier to not be scammed by strangers. Charity should be voluntary, and the closer it is given the better. People should support their neighbors!

Great post @kafkanarchy84. One on one charity is always the most effective and efficient way to help someone. See a mom struggling to pay a bill, buy groceries for the kids, or that has a flat tire? Take a moment to stop and help them out...either with your time and effort, or a gift card, or pay their check. I try to do that whenever I am able, since I don't donate to most name brand charities. I'll check out @maya7 posts and also send her a small gift. Thank you!

What you did is so inspiring. I want to group up with Steemain and do charity in my country too. There are so many places near the boarder that people can not access to books, electricity or medicine I want to give them the basic need. We can make the Stee.m community bigger and useful

Great post @kafkanarchy84 sir, upvoted and resteemed both posts.

Great to see this and that the system works. I also do not trust charities. We know that a lot of money is consumed by the charity itself. Only a small portion arrives poeple who need the support.
Steemit can change this. I will check her profile.

Thank you @kafkanarchy84 for supporting this cause. :)

As a fellow ancap, while I do agree that voluntary charity is important and proof that people can and will help each other without the state, I have some concerns with some of the "charity" happening here on Steemit. It all boils down to verifying if the person is legitimately in need of a charitable donation or are they being a scamster? I'm honestly not very cynical but the number of people who are just pleading for money here causes me to view their requests as the online version of pan handling. Do you not have any of these concerns at all?

Regardless, I just found your page and have been enjoying what you post. It's always a treat to find a pure voluntaryist who puts out good content. Keep up the good work. :)
