Not much to say, but it is funny. Suddenly.. waaaaay fewer views and upvotes.
Human nature at work.
My advice for those still kicking around here? Don't leave. I learned that lesson--I didn't leave for the same reason, but I did walk away for a while when life was an absolutely zoo, and it was a mistake. Not a non-recoverable one, but a mistake.
I lost traction.
I lost friends and followers I had made here.
And.. if you need the monetary reason? I missed out on investing a LOT in a quieter period on the site.
I'll be sticking around in the lulls and continuing to build now. I believe in this platform more than ever, and will be hoping to build my SP and connections on here, all the while continuing to produce the best content I can for all of you who have been so supportive of me since I came back to the fold.
Looking forward to the next stretch with the faithful remnant :)
xx,
Kay

P.S. I'd love to sing to you. Here is a cover of a Sarah McLachlan song, or a recent original I wrote just for my Steemit audience.
Yes, in the world of Steemit... it's easier to make hay while the sun ain't shining

Waves go up and down.. best not to try and follow them and be more like the rock, unaffected by the waves.

Hey KC, I read this post and wanted to share a piece I posted to Twitter yesterday - it's a funny write-up on the difference between fiat investing and crypto-HODLing. Basically, we're not trying to game a system to make a profit, we believe that crypto can have a massive, positive impact on the world and we believe that the STEEM community can be a big part of those solutions. Crypto will revolutionize the distribution and monetization of art and music in ways that will end those exploitative models forever. I know that - like you do - because I'm here, and I'm not going anywhere. Here's the article https://t.co/BCh4yio633 Hope I'll be seeing you at #openmic and on @dsound? Following!

Heck Yeah! I don't care how busy or quiet things get in Steemit at least this is a working platform and has lots of fabulous persons involved like your beautiful self. Thanks Kay

I hear what you're saying, Kay. I've seen my posts go down in value for the last almost two weeks. I feel myself getting negative, but then I just say, "well, thank you Lord for the posts I was able to do amazingly well on in the past." And I'll keep posting and focus on building my audience slowly instead of fishing for whales. I was able to pull a portion of my steem out and thankfully pay off some debt that was haunting me. So I know steem is not just "funny money." But for those that do stay in the long haul, the community is the best part. The money always was just icing on the cake. I look forward to hearing more of your songs here on this site!

Thanks for your thoughtful response! You have a great attitude. I think consistency is important, as it's a reflection of loyalty. The potential of a site like this is huge, so even just being able to build a good audience in advance of the throng.. is a big deal! And don't underestimate the investment side of things, either. And.. I think there will be other exciting seasons for payouts as well. If we focus on doing our best work and accept the different gifts in different seasons, it'll be good all the way through.
It will be so interesting to see where things are at a year from now. Congrats on paying down some debt! Being here has really made a difference for me financially as well. Very hopeful.

Soooo true. Although I haven’t been around for long yet, I do see how the amount of users could decline during times like this in crypto. I’m just looking at it as a great opportunity to build connections with those on here that are true influencers on steemit & learn from them. Also it doesn’t serve as a terrible time to scoop up more steem while the prices are low :) One question I do have for people that have been here for a while is when you’re posting, is it better to do a 100% SBD or 50/50? I’ve read arguments for both so far
