Paulag who just ran for a witness through the @steemcommunity account and refused Steemit as a social media. She would rather agree Steemit as a blogging media.

Of course we respect Paulag's opinion. It's just that I also need to convey different opinions as I understanding.

For me, Steemit comes in the social media sense. For me the meaning of social media is a media of online interaction, can be in the form of forums, blogs, chat applications, up to social networks.

We quote one of them social media definition from Business Dictionary:

Primarily internet or cellular phone based applications and tools to share information among people. Social media includes popular networking websites, like Facebook and Twitter; as well as bookmarking sites like Reddit. It involves blogging and forums and any aspect of an interaktive presence which allows individuals the ability to engage in conversations with one another, often as a discussion over a particular blogpost, news article, or event.
For social networking media, people more choose to Facebook, Twitter, Path, Tumblr, Pinterest, and Instagram. This is because of the nature that connected the friendship, family, or colleagues.

So, Paulag's attempt to separate Steemit into a blogging media, in the sense above, is still within the scope of social media, which in English is called social media.

In the past, the introduction of many people with steemit is also commonly referred to as blockchain was based onm social media. So, what distinguishes Steemit with Facebook and Reddit or blogging media is on the technology that is Blockchain. Dan, was distinguishes Steemit with other blogging media in terms of monetization is on that rewards.

In the social media network like Facebook and Twitter, the rewards in the form of like and love, while in Steemit, in the form of cryptocurrency STEEM, SBD and Steem Power. While the difference in the media blogging monetization lies on the centralized payments based on traffic that describes visitors, pageview or hits.

While the monetization on Steemit all have the opportunity to contribute his subjects to distribute his tokens via the upvote button. Everyone has a chance to judge good content.

The problem becomes complicated because good content issues and token distribution are often associated with justice goggles. This is where the beginning of the perception to grow until it causes so sharp, violent friction and finally there are angry, and some are going to surrender.

In fact, if a little calm, there is a more peaceful perspective to understand this issue. I was impressed to read the post written by @ezhadolphin which in it illustrates two ways of looking at the concept of justice.

Ezha says, the justice for human is when the strong can help the weak, when the clever educate the newbie. This is what distinguishes the fish where the big ones eat the small ones.

In the context of Steemit, the quality content doesn’t always have to be the best post size that meets all requirements to get upvote. A simple word, but the original writing is also quite worthy of upvote help by those who are stronger.

Ezha said it was not fair to say that steemian whale or dolphin to gain a steemian minnow for one sided of profit, one of which is happening now is the phenomenon of buying votes supported by some whale and some are raising the minnow funds for the reasons of community building. But the promise is only a promise. If this exists then the automatic justice collapses within the Steem community or the Steemit community.

This is my different opinion with Paulag, I am not enough room to build a different opinion with @paulag. The common problem that has also evolved in Steemit is that new people are not diligent enough to learn the steem blockchain based media work for system, so that when no post sees they choose angry and attack others with injustice and compare Steemits with media measures others in terms of quality content.

The solution is to flashback for education the Steemit for other steemian and build that mind to understand how the Steemit platform works. So they have the opportunity to develop an appropriate content monetization strategy. Secondly, what is important is also encouraged in all communities is to apply the principle when existing in Steem Whitepaper is to encourage communities to produce the products that can serve its members. This is what until now hasn’t had time to think because it is constantly busy with upvote issues and quality content.

That is my opinion for response @paulag post about "Steemit is NOT a Social Media Platform – So What is it ?". You can check here, and you can give some opinion too. Thank you.

Note : For all of my Friends, please read why Steemit was present for us in : https://steemit.com/faq.html

Well, why not both? Steemit is just like Tumblr version of Facebook. They're capable to maintain blogging and social media in the same time. The monetizations they provides are plus value for this platform. We can't see things from one side, we must open our mind for other possibility from this platform.
