The numbers are growing, we see more and more people joining daily and that supposed to be a good thing for the future of STEEM. Do you ever ask yourselves how many of those new accounts are totally worthless pile of shit who spam around in the most idiotic way possible?
Probably not, don't ask me how many. I'm just that casual irritated guy who gets attacked by trolls in my comment section almost every blog I post. Nothing out of the ordinary right?
FLAG or not to FLAG
The number of retarded people currently spamming around doesn't help us too much, in fact, it leaves a toll on us. People post shit, make shit comments and burn our steem-power % while there's a real hardworking @minnow lost in the cold sea waiting to be fed.
We need to stop stupid people!
And we need to prevent it when they try to signup! "SIMPLE!"
@ned good Sir, implement something, program an app or something.
- Like a quick IQ test ---> Pass and get your account approved
- If someone doesn't pass, he or she gets a tutorial on how to become a STEEM approved member
Its not flawless but thats all I have folks!
FIN!
Until next time, thanks for stopping by! I upvote cool comments so go for it, any upvote or resteem is much appreciated! Take care & stay awesome!
Unfortunately and fortunately, we seem to have hit the stage ,both with Steemit and the Cryptocurrency space, where the innovators/builders start to clash with the "general public/Newbies." I can see the early people/early adopters getting frustrated with newbies who either have no idea how to use these new tools or have NO RESPECT for those who have put their blood, sweat and tears into building it for the rest of us. I understand their frustrations. At least it is a sign that things are starting to catch on. Putting our minds together, I am sure someone will come up with a way to balance it all out.... Here's to the future with as little trolls as possible!
should we talk to ned about that? ;)But I think people see that. It's out on the open. Everyone can block/flag those trolls. I did that for few of them... I know what you want. To prevent those people to be on Steem. You think they can not make another account to troll around?
Bro they don't care about rep I have seen guys there rep was under 25 and still they are trolling.
Best is to ignore these trolls and don't waste good SP on them for flagging.
There is a host of problems and it's not IQ related. Vote exchanges, vote bots, et al - the entire upvote economy is for the lack of a better word, corrupted.
People want shortcuts and sadly, others have created services to profit from them. These services then become the only way to succeed and true content creators will eventually give up.
So rather than making it harder to sign up just stop the services and bots and keep it about people posting, commenting and upvoting rather than tools or automation.
Algorithms aren't going to fix human nature. And people LOVE a shortcut to success. Once they realise there is no shortcut, they'll move on or wither and die.
You can only hope that if they get flagged enough, they'll give up after a while. Is it even profitable to spam like that? I mean it's not free to create an account, so how much do these spammers make to make it worth it?
You can open an account for free, all you need is an email and a phone number. Dunno whats their deal since its obv after an hour of copy/paste comments that people ain't having it! In some cases they do...
I agree with you, should aproval for steemit registration must be tightened so that post quality and quality of comments in steemit could be better. In steemit we share useful things, not spam.
Mentally challenged is the politically correct term :D
anyway, you are on the right track, maybe each person must submit 1 post with registration to verify his intent (plagiarism) etc. I bet most spamming accounts don't even speak English.
Even more annoying are the ones advertising their "service" which re-steems your post for a fee to their fake 3k followers.

I love that idea with an IQ test it would keep a lot of trolls away.
The best at the moment is just to ignore them.
