I WRITE THIS TO ENCOURAGE EVERY STEEMIAN WHO HAS AT LEAST BROUGHT ONE PERSON INTO THE COMMUNITY
The steemit community has been growing rapidly, and a lot of people have found a way to make the community mean something to them and to their life in general. I would use my story to explain what I mean.
I happen to be a writer who had been blogging for over a year with google. It wasn't easy, I had to write an push my blogs to every social media network possible, so as to generate traffic to my page. My thoughts were simple, if google saw that much traffic was coming to my page, they would eventually consider giving me my AdSense account; which I kept applying for, month after month without success. Funny enough... I never gave up, writing is my life and the very few people, who my page meant something to, kept me going.
Steemit happened
Sometime last year, @samstickkz forced me to take my writing to steemit.com, he even took a post from my page, put it on steemit and got paid... that was when I decided to give it a try. You can tell that I obviously stayed.
Don't get me wrong, I actually run my own business on a daily basis... but steemit definitely gives me one of my best passive incomes and also a reason to throw money around, into investments and the ladies ... lol.
THE PREACHER
Ever since I started living the steem dream, I don't think I can ever have a 10 minute conversation with someone without mentioning steemit.
On several occasions my friends ask me:
What do you stand to gain by getting me signed up?
My Answer: JOY
Then they give me that very amazing look that spells "keep lying to us" , soon after the steemit virus catches up with them, they open steemit churches in their families and among their friends.
One particular event that touched me was they story of a friend of mine. I had just closed from church service when I decided to call her and asked how she was doing, she responded well but disclosed to me how she really wanted to pay the tuition fees of her kid. I quickly reminded her that her wallet should have some good payouts to take care of that. Prior to this time I had invited her into the community and made sure she joined me at @stach. When she checked her wallet, she had over 20SBD in there, which I immediately helped her convert to our local fiat currency amounting to 59,600 naira. Guess what? she actually needed 60,000, so all she had to do was add the little 400 naira and her child's fees were paid.
The joy that gladdened my heart that day knew no bounds.
I HAVE COUNTLESS STORIES OF THAT SORT AND I STRONGLY BELIEVE THAT I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE
Many of you out there silently preach the gospel according to steem, and yes it might not be as elaborate as the meet-ups most of our frontier steem guys do, never forget this:
You add value to the community because every newbie counts
Do not feel bad when people put up posts about how they massively reached 1000 people or even 20 or hundred and then put up the videos and make payouts worth over $1000, stay true to your path. Keep doing what you do, the community is balanced because of you.
Most of us have day jobs that keep us glued to our offices or businesses every hour of everyday. Do not feel bad, reach out to that colleague or business partner or even your neighbour when you get home.
keep doing your bit
Join communities
Try to find out about steemit communities in your locality and fellowship with them, when they go out as a community to do mass publicity, you are also with them because you are a member.
STEEMIANS THAT ARE ALL OUT AMBASSADORS, AND WHO HAVE MY UNDILUTED SUPPORT EVERY SINGLE HOUR... BECAUSE THEY DO WHAT MOST OF US DREAM ABOUT PASSIONATELY
@ejemai: A selfless nigerian steemian and my boss. He is the founder of the @stach movement and is responsible for changing the lives of hundreds of nigerians as far as I am concerned. I know he changed mine. Never let his very quiet demeanor fool you. He is a steemit activist by heart and has brought the Nigerian community to the limelight. He has pioneered 2 offline hubs here in Nigeria, where you have constant power supply and free wifi. Something our government has fallen short in achieving. The first hub is in the city of Portharcourt rivers state, while the second was recently launched in the city of Uyo, Akwa Ibom state. As for outreaches and meetups, he has successfully been involved in a dozen of them.... his latest meet up was in Ghana, read about it here Our newest hub was just opened this month in uyo, read about it here and here
@gogogadgetupvote: this awesome steemian turned friend, is a very free-spirited man. He takes his time to curate posts by newbies and even rewards those that help him find resteem-worthy intro-posts. He indrectly gave me my first steemit job. I had to wake up every morning to submit intoductory posts to him.
@futurethinker: He refuses me calling him sir. I think he has a thing for the word bro. My goodness, he is a very blunt man who is a friend for keeps. HE runs the promo-steem channel on discord where he helps steemians make the best out of their posts by giving them corrections and advising on ways to present their posts. Recently launched the promo-steemwebsite. He added the spice I needed to make my posts vote-worthy. DID I MENTION THAT HE LOVES MY MUSIC AND BELIEVES IN ME?
@luzcypher: I must confess that I do not have any sort of relationship with this steemian. Unknown to him though, my music has now received some international recognition because of the openmic contests that himself and @pfunk organize. Thank you sir, for all you do. I can tell that many steemit musicians from around the world have been affected by him.
@nairadaddy: He gave me my first ON-AIR Job, so yeah right now you are looking at the Current DIRECTOR of CLINIC FM. Clinic-fm is the radio station of the mother body **AIR-CLINIC. At the air-clinic you receive health tips as well as good medical consultation and care from reputable doctors. This is strongly powered by the steem blockchain.
@ashleykalila: I met her on discord, only to find out that she does an interview for steemians all around the world, looking into their offline lives and showing them to the entire human community. The best part is this, when she features your interview on the @humansofsteemit page she gives you 50% of the posts payouts. I WAS THE FIRST STEEMIAN SHE INTERVIEWED THIS YEAR
@ackza: This amazing man does not leave the steem community uninformed about the cryptoshere. He also mentors quite a number of steemians on steemit. One word for him SELFLESS BELIEVER IN THE BLOCKCHAIN... ermmmm... did I say one word?
@samstickkz: He has single introduced over 200 nigerians to the steemit community, and then went ahead to pioneer steem uyo, raising an army of steemians from Akwa-Ibom state. My steemit journey is all because of this man. I love you bro.
@tojukaka: Another nigerian who eats, drinks and shits steemit, the energy which he uses to push the steemit gospel can only be from outer space. He is a driven young man dedicated to changing lives with the gospel according to STEEM. Check out his latest steemit meet up here
@topkpop: This would be like the 100th time I am talking about this lovely lady who I met through @ethandsmith(i'll tell you his story another day), my bands songs have left the shores of my country because of her. Her radio airplays gave my band a global audience, for that I am grateful. I love you ma'am.
@surpassinggoogle: I do not think I will be satisfied if i leave out this man who is a foreigner but nigerian by heart. Terry is passionately concerned about the community. A visit to his page will clear all doubts you have. Thank you sir, for all you do.
EVEN I CANNOT LIST OUT ALL THE NAMES, AND I KNOW THERE ARE MORE OF YOU OUT THERE. THIS GOES TO SHOW THAT THE LITTLE YOU DO TO ADD A NEWBIE TO THIS COMMUNITY MATTERS A LOT.
LET'S ALL PREACH THIS GOSPEL AT WHATEVER LEVEL WE ARE AT
yours truly
