Epic guide to promote your post

I am very sure that most great and well experienced bloggers using the platform (steemit) for a while now will agree with me that it's the best place to blog, and a good place to monetise your article.

Many article are being published to the steem blockchain almost every seconds or less. This means that your article can easily be pushed down by other new articles fast. This cause your article not to have enough views.In this article, i will share some guides with you on how to promote your post and have more engagement.

Before publishing

After you are done typing your awesome post which you might have spent lots of time on trying to format, spell check and make readable, you should make sure to add relevant tags that best describes your post or what your post is actually talking about. by doing this, it makes your post more visible to those who are looking for similar content.

Take for example, you wrote an article talking about politics, then you should use tags like "politics", "people", "democracy" etc. This way, when people are searching for politics related articles online, your post should also appear in the search.

Tags are simply keywords which can be used to describe your post.

After Publishing

Once your article is published, you can simply do the following:

• Upvote yourself
• Submit your post to google, bing or any available search engine
• share to every social media that you are on e.g facebook, twitter, reddit etc
• Submit post link to #promotion channel either in steemit.chat or in discord chanel
• Respond to your comments

Why should i do all this?

By doing all this, you may get the following result:

• Having more people to view and engage with your blog post
• Indirectly inviting other people to the steemit community
• You could get more people to follow you.

How do i share my post link to other social media ?

This is quite easy for some and very difficult to some people as well. using Facebook as an example, all you need to do is copy your post link, and paste in either your Facebook profile, a Facebook group or to a page you are managing.

It's very much advisable that you do not spam any group or channel with your post link all in the name of getting attention.

What happens when i spam?

Spamming isn't a good idea. you can get people angry and they may decided to down-vote you with full power which can cause a lot of damage to your reputation

Approach people

Approaching people to advertise your article should be done in a very nice and good manners. I personally have come across some steemian, who sends link directly to my inbox without any prior conversation requesting that their post should be upvoted or they might be requesting for upvote for upvote.You should not be doing that.If you are already doing that, you should stop immediately

When approaching your fellow steemian, it's rather advisable that you start up with a nice conversation maybe by introducing yourself,then gradually talk about the kind of things you post to the steem blockchain.

Conclusion

To some, steemit is an amazing platform and to others its just like boring place to be since no one tends to view or vote their post. You must understand that steemit is still very new and is growing gradually. Maybe your niche may not be in steemit yet
