Recently, I've seen a negative trend of people trying to make "quick cash" on Steemit.
Newbies (or bitter vets of the platform) see the top posts trending, and instantly think they can replicate the same content and get paid handsomely.
Yet, when they don't get paid the $9001.00 they thought they would for their post, they complain.
Now, this is the part that REALLY bugs me. When you're on Reddit, Facebook, Twitter, etc. You don't complain that you're posting for free!
So why do they treat Steemit any differently?
The answer is simple: these people don't view Steemit as a social media platform. They instead view it as a "get rich quick" scheme, and are rattled when their rose-tinted view of Steemit "fails" to deliver their "hard earned" money.
What can we do as a community to fix this?
I think the answer here is simple. As a community, we need to treat Steemit as a social media platform like any other -- except we need to remain focused on content. Too many posts are being made titled along the lines of "STEEMIT GET RICH NOW" and "HOW I MADE $14,241.97 IN TEN MINUTES".
There needs to be a much more serious community effort towards upvoting the things we truly enjoy, rather than what may blow up.

I agree but it appears you have not posted in over a year and one needs to participate in a community to create a positive community. I think it's best to teach by example not by excessive negative criticism. Maybe this page is a dead account?
