Where is the balance, if any?

in steemit •  7 years ago  (edited)

Recently I read that a person on here was involved in a terrible accident, while that was a travesty in itself (and I'm glad that the person wasn't fatally injured). what I do find sickening is that so many people are willing to rally around after to replace the car that was written off when the insurance will replace it for them, while on another note a steemit member @mrbloom was so disgustingly ripped of after working so hard to raise a good name and profile, and yet folks on here will just be thinking "Oh what a shame" or things of that nature.
My beef is: why help someone to buy a new Jeep Cherokee when the insurance will replace that, I'll bet that when the insurance does replace it, the money raised won't be paid back to the good folk who so kindly and blindly donated it.
Also, will those same poeple be so quick to raise funds to help someone who was ripped off by another steemit member?
I also hear that another steemit member had his tent (his home) removed by road workers leaving him with less than nothing. Yet I hear not of any help flying to this steemit member to get him his home replaced, something that would cost far less than a new Jeep Cherokee.
Is there any fair play left in the world or are we all just happy to massage egos just to help ourselves to reach higher places?
Not me.
I'm not in this post for the money, so, ANYTHING that I get from this post will got to @professorhobbo 100%, this way I hope to restore the balance of justice.

Well spoken. Act instead of complain. Give those who need it and spare the ones who don't.

Thank you so much & to Linda but really the help isn't necessary. I hadn't used the tent for months & may never have used it again. Everything in life happens for a reason & in this case it was a positive outcome.
Brilliant post though very sincere & appreciated even without the mention if I had found it in time I believe I would have upvoted it & followed you on the back of it's merit alone & I will honour that.
Welcome to steemit we seem to be cut from a similar type cloth I'm now looking frward to some more of your posts :)

Ah, I should have guessed you don't just know Linda from on here do you, I just clicked your next post & thought I know that dog Jessie from somewhere. :)
