I know everyone can feel it. Steemit has been slowing down. Not that it is out of gas, but attention is starting to wane. It is very interesting how we attach so much financial gain to the platform where so many said it is all about the community and not the money.
When I first set up my account, I started joining groups on discord to get to know more people in the Steemit Community. So many of these groups were vibrant and active and there were great conversations happening. In many of those same groups now, instead of bring lively and active, there are the regulars that are always there but little else. Most have come and gone and when new users do come into those communities, there seems to be more interest is when STEEM, and cryptocurrency in general will bounce back so they know when to come back to make money. They are thinking about how they help support the platform. That is not to say it is not happening, I am just not seeing as much as I did when I signed up a couple of months ago.
There are 3 groups I participate that seem to be the exception in my small world.
- Promo-mentors lead by @futurethinker
- Geopolis lead by @samve
- Steemit Travellers lead by @for91days
All 3 of these groups are active and really trying to push their individual communities, the platform, and even the STEEM ecosystem at large. I applaud them all for their efforts, and am actively trying to help by getting more involved with Promo-Mentors.
I am sure there are many other communities that are actively trying to make Steemit a better place and trying to push the STEEM blockchain so other developers will want to build applications for the ecosystem and other content creators will want come to Steemit and keep the Steemit platform strong.
I hope we are all successful in keeping Steemit moving during this slowdown. I am 100% positive that Steemit is here to stay just like Bitcoin, STEEM, and other altcoins as well. This is the future, we need to all jump onboard and help build it together.

I totally agree. The majority of people I've told about Steemit get on here, post a bit, and then let their account develop cobwebs due to the lack of engagement and money that their post have as compared to others. I reiterate that nothing worth having comes easy and that all those that have been substantially rewarded from crypto only did so by understanding what was happening, knowing the value of what was happening, and putting in the work of believing in that value for a long period of time as an early adopter. Its a shame that even without the monetary incentive, these people can't see the value of having a blogging platform that gives the blogger a creative medium by which one can share data and is home to people you know are forward thinking just by the platforms intimate association with crypto.
...It is what it is, I guess...

I get what you mean! My take on this: from normal market dynamics not all new startups (tokens) are able to sustain themselves, so eventually there will be many ones failing. What will stay is the community and the blockchain technology. The blockchain specs of steem is one of the best right now, however there are more factors for it to "stay". But I have no doubt that this community is there to stay.
