Steem Dollars vs Steem Savings, which one is better?

in steemit •  7 years ago

I am still so confused with all the different types of Steems. I understand the crucial importance of Steem Power, but between Steem Dollar and Steem Savings; which one serves better for you?
I know people can transfer Steem Dollars (because if not mistaken it is pegged with the dollar value?) but why are there 2 types? Is it because there was a fork before?

Appreciate anyone here shed some light in my confused mind. Thank you.

Do you follow @jerrybanfield ? I can't help but I guess he can :) His blog is my map here! All the best.

No, I am pretty new here @tezmel . I just checked out his profile it is kind of confusing. Too much information LOL, but I didn't see the differences for Steem Savings vs Steem Dollars. Probably I might need to run a google search or something

I know you are pretty new... I am pretty new myself :D Am sorry about the info overload, hahaha!

LOL it is ok @tezmel . I am still confused. Besides, my earnings are too little to see the difference yet, and I think the only way to liquidate it later is to move from Steem Dollar to Steem then to BTC then to fiat currency...

Did you ever figure it out @littlenewthings?? i just searched for this same info and came to your post.

Apparently Steem Savings seems useful for power up, and Steem Dollars is a more stable form if you want to buy and sell in Steemit, because it goes closer to the value USD. Steem Dollars is basically Steem backed Dollars.
