Proposed Steemit Feature: Series Subscription

As I was looking through the new design of Steemit, I was really impressed with how it has evolved. One thing that struck me as a feature I'd like to see is the option of bloggers to separate their works into a series which Steemit users could subscribe to. Perhaps the author could have the option program the series to prefill the tags/topics field so that the series can be targeted consistently. I think something like this is a win-win in a couple of ways:

From the perspective of he reader, there may be an interest in certain content an author generates, but not all of their content. A series manager would allow them to target the content they like and focus their attention and voting power on that content. It could also more effectively filter the feed of the reader, giving them a more enjoyable experience. Will it hurt discovery? Possibly, but I think there may be some solutions to address that problem.

From the perspective of the author, it encourages them create different brands to target different audience types with their content. Ideally, the author could see subscriber activity and allow them to focus their efforts on building a niche and generating quality content for that brand niche. I think in the long run this could lift the quality of the content overall and benefit Steemit.

I'm curious if there is something like this on the whiteboard and the thoughts of the community as a whole.
