I wholly agree with your sentiments Trevon. Steemit has descended into the uber-whack realm. It has unfortunately been a huge disappointment so far for the majority of the users.

Downvoting a post can decrease pending rewards and make it less visible. Common reasons:

  • Disagreement on rewards
  • Fraud or plagiarism
  • Hate speech or trolling
  • Miscategorized content or spam

    Well I don't know about that but there's certainly a lot to improve. Success is already on their side and they really need to implement key features like Trevor here mentioned (notifications, following, communities maybe). Right now it's a complete mess full of spam and mediocre 5-10k posts, we can all see that.
