What is @steemStem?

@steemSTEM is an amazing community that is promoting science, technology, engineering and mathematics on the STEEM blockchain.

They curate all the STEM-related tags as well as their own steemstem tag, rewarding scientists who write about their work and other recent advancements in high-quality, interesting posts.

Their primary goal is to bring (and also keep) new scientists and passionate minds to STEEM through a friendly and helpful environment while promoting legitimate, original content.

Not enough funding

The project has existed for a long time now (1.5 years) and has gotten by with only minimal funding.

The community management team delegates a share of their SP to the account and so far it has acquired less than 25k SP. I feel it's such a shame for a community, so friendly and beneficial to Steem, to be so underfunded. The management team is putting in full-time effort and takes almost nothing for themselves.

As we speak, the SteemSTEM community is growing exponentially, expanding its staff - currently at 17! - across multiple languages, all without increasing support to match:

10.000 SP Delegation

I decided that something needed to be done, so I powered up 10k SP and delegated them to steemSTEM.

Afterwards, I noticed that the post about the @steemSTEM meetup generated a lot of support. Which is amazing!
